Show Mrs. Mary James Edmunds of Wales Died Sunday at Eig-hty-eig-ht Years of Ag-s Mrsl Mary Jame.3 Edmunds of Wales, 88 years of age and the widow wi-dow of Edmund Edmunds, died Sunday morning at the home of a son, Edmund J. Edmunds. Death fo'l-.wed an illness of four days, s.rd was ascribed to infirmities incident in-cident to age. Funeral .services were held in the Wales ward L. D. S. chapel at 1 p. m. Thursday, under direction of tht ware1 bishopric. Interment was .11 the Wr.les CPirttery. Mrs. Edmunds -va- born at Myr-ther Myr-ther Tivil. Glomlmoreanshir. F.r.e- land. Marc.: 10. 1846. She was a jaurrhter ot Junies and Mary Hnr-rls Hnr-rls James She J incd the L. D. S. Church about 1850, and was married mar-ried about sixteen years later. In 1878 she emigrated to America, Amer-ica, crossing the Atlantic with live children including a babe in aims. July 24th. she arrived in Utah. Mr. Edmund had preceded her and the children to this country by eighteen eight-een mon'hs and Ijad ;l'led at Wales, where she made her home subsequent to her arrival in Utah. Her husband died January 2, 1907. Four cf their fourteen children "irvive: Ednv'rirt J. and N. J. of, Wales; Mrs. William Barentson of F untsin Green; T. J. Edmunds of Omaha. Neb.; also ixteen grandchildren grand-children and 8 trreat-grandchlldren. Mrs. Edmunds was for many vrars active in the Church as a teacher In th" Wales ward Relief Society, until declining health necessitated ne-cessitated her withdrawal from this labor. |
