Here is the word of the Almighty Al-mighty in regard to Japan: "I will send evils upon thee, widowhood, poverty, famine, sword and pestilence to waste thy houses unto destruction and death. And the glory of thy power shall be dried up as a flower, when the heat shall arise that is sent over thee." Friend J. H. Keate has eleven grandsons in the service of his country, all doing well. Neighbor George J. Fox, merchant prince of his part of the city, has just had a visit from his son who is in the service and doing well his part. Christie Lund Coles, daughter, daugh-ter, won second prize in the 1944 Relief Society Eliza R. Snow poetry contest with one of her splendid poems. Mrs. Vesta Crawford won first prize in the poetry contest and second sec-ond prize in the story prize. Our neighbor, Mrs. Tomlin-son, Tomlin-son, sustained the loss of her aged mother early this week and we extend our sympathies to her. Mrs. Joseph A.
