MUD o Cooperation Progressing The first iNation-wid- e Co-o- p Drive ever staged in the United States will run from October 1941 to October 1942 and will concentrate on two chief objectives to strengthen thj ex isting consumer cooperatives by increasing membership, trade and capital; and to awaken America to the advantages of con-sumer of cooperation These were the decisions of representative of most of the important regional associations in the country gathered for a two-da- y session. September 1 and 12 to make specific plans for the drive. At various times during the course of the national drive, the regional cooperative associat ions will stage special drives and will mobilize the efforts of 2300 local cooperative societies affiliated with The Cooperat ive League of the USA through its affiliated regionals. In these 2300 communities individual co-o- p members will part-icipate in door-t- o door campaigns to tell their neighbors about all the advantages of consumer cooperation and invite them to join, trade in, and invest in cooperatives. About Christian- - ty And Prophesy THE NEXT NINE YEARS An Analysis and a Prophecy by Winy Anderson First Printing, July 1938 THE CHRISTIAN Prophecies based on this Bible are too numerous to exam-ine in detail. The Seven Day Adventists have recognized the Bible as a prophecy and their interpretation is enlightening. The writer laughed at a Seven Day Adventist friend when, in 1914, this friend stated that the war then declared would last four years and would be but a dress rehearsal for a longer and far more destructive war a generation later. A prophecy which which seemed preposterous at the time, was fulfilled when the Pope regained limited temporal power. Today the Catho-lic Church is recognized as a state, with the privileges of am-bassadors to other nations, just as the larger states., I see to-day the verification of every prediction of my friend. The Morrrfons (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) have inspiration and prophecy as the very corner stones of their faith and the President of the church is their chief seer and prophet. Voliva of the Christian Catholic Apos-tolic Church of Zion, of Zion City, Illinois, has been shouting prophecies from the house tops and over the air for all to hear. His laughable ideas on Cosmogony will prejudice most of us in our evaluation of his ideas of the future, but the fact remains that the writer possesses a brchure issued in 1915 by this or-ganization, breath-takin- g in its accuracy. An interpretation, based entirely upon the Bible, bears witness that he, with a sincere desire to be a light in dark places, will be given light whether the instrument used, as a divining tool, be a Bible, astrology, mathematics, cards, tea leaves or what not. Judge Rutherford, leader of Jehovah's Witnesses, is a prophet of no mean ability. We have but to look about the world today to see the fulfillment of many of the auguries of this religious sect. The British-Isra- el Movement throughout the British Em-pire and the Angol-Saxo- n Federation of the United States, both have voluminous literature on the Great Pyramid as a prophecy in stone. Using the measurements of the pyramid passages as a yardstick of time, and A. D. 1 as their known date, they have worked out a system which looks plausible up-on examination. The Bible is used as a key in the interpreta-tion of pyramid measurements. There seems little doubt that A. D. 1 was chosen by early Christian writers for its astronomical import as a date for the birth of their Savior. These men were well versed in astron-omy, astrology, and cyclic law and did indeed embody a proph-ecy in the books of the Bible. But without a key to the cosmic cycles an interpreter is lost when trying to time the events forecast in the Book of Revelation and other books of the Bible. The Signs of The TimeS-Dri- ft Of World Events Wing Anderson.in his book, Seven Years That The World says: President Roosevelt is likely to become the president for a fourth term. He gives as the reason that the country will be in su eh a condition 'hat the people will be glad to let wel enough alone and just let him carry over for four more years Anyone w ho thinks we have gone to the extreme in pub-lishing prophesy concerning this country and others should take up the current issue of the Magazine Truth, published by J. W. Mueser. and read there what the Mormon prophets of earlier times have said on the subjecl. Consternation's Defeat Where is our faith? Where oes it lie It evil temptations steps in to defy? Wells For New Order We take note of every great man's sayings or predictions about a new order of things for this old and idiotic world and always try to bring new or old thoughts before our readers. The latest we have'taken note of is from one of the world's greatest men, H. G. Wells of England. Speaking before th British Association for the Advancement of Science he said: "Before there is to.be any peace on earth henceforth there must be federal control of all natural resources and sweeping social and economic reforms." And he means what he saysi He has for years foreseen that the old order is passing and a Continued in Next Column This Must and Will be Changed Everywhere From Colliers' Weekly At least 45,000,000, of Great Britain's 47,000,000 poqula-tio- n do not own an inch of land. On the other hand some few hold vast properties such as the Marquis of Bute, who recent-ly sold a part of his land ho'dings to a syndicate for $100,000, 000. The sale not only included half of Cardiff, Wales, the world's largest coal port, but also 20,000 of its homes and 500 of its stores, saloons, theatres and industrial plants." AND THIS PAPER ADDS THIS THOUGHT While our sympathies are with England we tell the world that such conditions are the outstanding reasons why she isbeing brought to judgme t. And what a judgment it is- - and will be! The few have had their day in that country and in all other countries. The present struggle will not end untill all nations have been brought to the severest judgment because of their sins against their people God has sounded his trump-et for justice and equality and there will be no retreat in the great Io eling process preparatory to humanity's redemption. Our whole soul revolts against the condition in Wales where one man owns so very much and the workers own nothing. When the Duke of Windsor, then king, looked upon that con-dition his feelings were touched and he slid, 'I will see that something is done to better these conditions." Such a senti-ment, sealed his fate and for it he had to abdicate. In the face of fuch conditions there and everywhere civilization and Clnistianity are a mockery and they do but blaspheme t e Pa vioi r when they say they live His religion NATURE AND WAR Live, Let Live and Help to Live Have you ever beheld the sheer beauty of the northern country- -side in autumn, when the vivid rampant colorings from the Divine palette have transformed the hardwoods from their somber summer greens into a color riot so breathtaking that it defies description; color beauty so wonderful that neither master artists nor color photographer can really cap-ture it? In the clear crisp October air, nature's offerings are a tonic for the soul; an inspiration toward clean thinking and better living. And to think, in the midst of such beauty, that men are at war ! Why? Largely because of the economic fact; because they have not shared among themselves. They have not shared freely, as has the Creator, for all men. As Wordsworth phrased the thought, "The world is too much with Us; Late and soon, get-ting and spending, we lay waste our powers Little we see in nature that is ours ..." "Getting and spending . . . ";content to "live and let live." Well, that's not enough ! We must learn to live, let live, and HELP LIVE! "He Who went about doing good" taught us that. But as yet most of us don't believe Him! And so today millions of men are at war-- 1 with millions more thinking of war; until the very air seems tense, with war almost universal. And it's a crime; a crime against Cod and against mankind. But the day will surely dawn ("It's a cmin' yet," wrote But the day will surely dawn ("it's a comin' yet," wrote Bobbie Burns, revered bard of Scotland) when men will thrill to peace as they now thrill to a good (for them) stroke of prof-itable fortune in business; or as they now thrill to a new in-vention for desctruction and killing. For is the acme of civiliz-ation's trek upon the centuries to be found in the instrument panel of a bomber? Is that the end-poin- t? With more wars, and still more wars ahead of future generations? No, it cannot be! It isn't going to be! We turn to the Book of our forefathers and there we find Divine Assurance that the true climax will be such peace as now passeth under-standing when the world will be lapt in universal law; a peace at present quite beyond the ken of man when we will see in nature what is ours, and LIVE, instead of die. The true definition of that future, which is fortunately not far distant now, is the Kingdom of Cod. For the Kingdom en-compasses the desire of all nations and when it is here in full fruition it will force ill will off the face of the earth and make of this world a place where Peace on Earth, Cood Will Towards Men will be the rule; and the nations shall learn war no more. (Micah 4:3.) C. S. W. in "Destiny" Need Something More Than Army and Navy-Mor- e indispensable than military and naval security is a reformation of our life that shall issue in more of consistency, more of justice, yes, and more of decency in all human rela-tions. America must be a determining factor in bringing about conditions that shall secure to our people and to the nations now at war the finest security and the best peace this old world has ever known. Let us with determination and courage set ourselves to the task of so preparing this nation morally and spiritually that it shall play the part we believe God has given it, to heal the breaches, assuage the pain and restore to comity and goodwill the nations now at war. Jesus Christ in His every act and teaching sought to give men the fine things of the abundant life. He reckoned with material values, and saw their just place" in any consistent scheruejof life. His program contemplated equity and justice and a consistentjdistribution of the blessings of life to men of all sorts and kinds. Only by the application ofjHis teachings, practically applied to every condition of life, may the world find the way of peace and security. Pathfinder. KOSMON CENTER, 3ox 664, HOW.
