Show Predictions of Two L. D. S. Presidents We give here two predictions, one made by President of the L. D. S. church Joseph F. Smi,th, and the oilier ,by Wilford Woodruff, also a president of the church. Read them and oompare. The following by Joseph F. Smith is fine and is perhaps to be the ultimate destiny of the country after a new civilization civiliza-tion has succeeded the present one. "The Lord has been over this nation and it is His purpose and design tp enlarge it and make it glorious above all 'others and to give it dominion and power over the earth to the end that those who are kept in bondage and serfdom may be brought to the enjoyment of the fullest freedom and liberty of conscience possible for intelligent men to exercise on the earth." Spoken in 1903. He was not an isolationist. The following by Wilford Woodruff, spoken August 1 1880. . "When I contemplate the condition of our nation and see how the wickedness and abominations are increasing I ask myself the question. Can the American nation escape? The answer is, No, its destruction, as well as the destruction of the world, is sure; just as sure as the Lord cut off and destroyed the two great and prosperous (Book of Mormon) nations that once inhabited this continent, because of their wickedness, so will he them destroy, and sooner or later they (the Americans) will reap the fruits of their own wicked acts and be numbered with the past." Along side of Pres. Woodruff,' with similar and even stronger testimonies about the destruction of the present American civilization, stand Joseph Smith, the prophet Brigham Young, John Taylor, Heber C. Kimball, and several others and Pres. Joseph F. Smith has himself said the samej but we cannot now get hold of it. In connection with above just keep in mind the following: Eleven civilizations havi flItffUb.i l aQd perished since man has inhabited the earl hj dialriliS scientist. And it seems that all mankind is now striving furiously to make it an even dozen. ... s m |
