Foo(olFORTlhioiuiM As Russia goes, so will the United States and great Bri-tain go not completely down but almost to destruction. The most heroic fighting and the great sacrifices made have not been able to withstand the fierce forces that have stood so well in the North. But with Russia overcome for the tirue being that force will come against our own country and the British En pire. And what can stand against them? Then we can protest and kick and complain against Japan and Germ-man- y, but without words. The age has dawned when human fellowship will become a reality. The century has come when all religions shall be unified. The dispensation is at hand when all nations shall enjoy the blessings of International Peace. The cycle has ar rived when racial prejudice will be abandoned by the tribes and peoples of the world. The epoch has begun wherein all nativities will be conjoined in one great human family. For all mankind shall dwell in peace and security beneath the shelter of the great tabernacle of the one living God. Bahai It does not seem to us that real and true Brotherhood can be established under the exploiting , profit-takin- g and usurious system commonly called capitalism It just can't be done. The two are incompatible, and they may talk about Brotherhood from now till Doomsday but it as practised by Jesus and the early Christian church, cennot bo brought abou Wise old Benjamin Franklin knew it when he said: "H who shall introduce into public affairs the principles Christia-nit- y vill change the face of the world." "The land of Egypt shall not escape, I will bring a sword upon thee-an- cut off man and beast out of thee. Thy land shall be desolate. I shall give them over to a cruel Lord and a fierce king. I shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea (Suez Canal) and shall smite the river Nile and turn it out of its course AND MAKE MEN GO OVER DRY SHOD." This is taking place now. The invaders are there and Hitler will conquer. Open your eyes and see every word fulfilled. George Bernard Shaw, who knows more about Russia than its local defamers could learn in a thousand years, ha just said: "Since the English Parliament was invented 250 years ago it has not been able to do as much to develop ins dustry and civilize the English people as Russia has done in every 250 days for the last 20 years." And now her cities, built in beauty and hope, are being buried in blood and dust The big papers that suppressed Vice-preside- nt Wallace's speech are now attacking it from all angles. They say it is visionary to propose to furnish education and milk to every-body and that he is a mystic dreamer. But one paper says in tribute: "He goes back to "blessed are the poor," said by the greatest dreamer of all time; and to that other declaration poken bv the dreamer Jefferson: "All men are created free and equal." We do not know how much good tho Farm Security has done for Utah but we do know that those who needed it the most did not get any help because of credit requirements. But in the nation at large and in the South- - ern States this agency has worked wonders and proved that it not only is the work of man but the work of God as well. It : has proved that "lost" human beings can be salvaged, rehab ilitated and saved, and that it is 100 per cent constitutional to use the government to minister to human welfare. Until the New American Order was set up there was in this country many instances of feudal slavery called share-croppin- g under which system poor whites and negroes strug-gled and starved, wearing out their lives for profits for the owner and nothing for themselves. Presidents and congres-ses came and went but nothing was done. Supreme courts said it was "unconstitutional" to help these unfortunates, so they were left to perish, "root hog or die." a Moses was raised up and he said: "Lei there be more abundance and a more decent life." And verily something was done. Six hundred thousand families were taken from the very jaws of starvation and given long time loans at 5 per cent. (This is besides the millions who were given relief assistance) And immediately they and their fa-milies began to prosper and soon stood forth like people made in the image of Godl' In South Carolina and Georgia 80 to 90 per cent of those so helped were unable to get a cent of credit anywhere. Through the loans they were made i Continued From Page Ij Yet, save and until we repent unto obedience to these great or inviolable, secure in-heritance (Micah 4:4); release debtors every seventh year, when unable to pay them (Deut. 15:2 and Matthew 6:12); abolish In-terest on money (Leviticus 25:36 and Ezekial 18:13); operate at least the great natural resources socially for the common good (Jsalms 24:1) take taxes only from people's surplus, as in the proposed 9 per cent gross income tax (Numbers 18:30). All of which is assuredly "the Lord's plan" for men and who can deny? Democracy, now limited, highly imperfect and incomplete, must be extended, made full! The Anglo-Saxo- n peoples (Bri-tain and America) or "Israel na-tions" have a great destiny in-deed to "possess the gates of your enemies," as Singapore, Suez, etc. (retention conditioned, however, on obedi-ence to God's statutes and com-mandments, declares the Bible); to "possess the heathens," to "bring light to those sitting in darkness" and to say to captives, "Come forth!" (That is, to en-lighten and help inferior or primi-tive peoples, not exploit them, as Britain and America have so far, to their shame, also been doing! ) utes and commandments of God, our fortunes are slack, Singapore and Tobruk are fallen, disaster s and will continue upon us! All in fulfillment of the Scriptures (Leviticus 26:19 and Deuteron-omy, 28th chapter.) You may set this down, it is at once statement of fact and prophecy. This is why it is important that this be pub-lished, and as promptly as pos-sible. And I have also communi-cated the substance of this state-ment to both President Franklin D. Roosevelt and Mr. Churchill. To longer delay obedience to these great Divine statutes and commandments may well prove fatal! Yet to move forward, now, is at once a challenge and a magnificent opportunity, fully en-titling us, when completed, to the wonderful, copious blessings enu-merated in Chapter 26 of Leviticus and Chapter 28 of Deuteronomy. We have joy and worlds to gain, nothing to lose but misery and our chains! Belief merely or rit-uals are, now, vain and definitely passe! Our former pride, conceit, greed and unbelief alone must be sacrificed. The New Age is, s! The fol-lowing shows how she felt about Wood-ro- w Wilson in 1916. WOODROW WILSON, 1916 The true and sincere of all parties claim Woodrow Wilson, for they recognize in him the Ideals they have in mind as the foundation of their own Party. So they say he belongs to them and is preaching their doctrine. But we Democrats say, with all sincerity, and without wish to offend, that he is Our Ideal Democrat; with true Democratic thoughts, in-spirations and ideals ; that he has not only made those ideals practical, but even now they are in actual operation. ' We say that his heart is in touch with the thoughts and needs of this great country; that he has realized the greatest opportunity of true manhood in being of service to man. In this nation "There is a Divinity that shapes its course, rough hew it as we may." Therefore : All hail Woodrow Wilson! Our Champion and friend! Whom no boss can coerce, nor dire threat bend,' Whose heart is as big as this country is broad ; Who works for humanity and thus worships God. t Another Bomb for Hitler or Hiroheto from on- - f Utah's mines. When the war broke upon the United States with the attack by the Japs on Pearl Harbor on De-cember 7, 1941, all industry, small and big, had to transform to a war basis and transform quickly. This American industry, small and large, did and in record time, as produc-tion now proves. Utah's mines from the large down to the smallest producer, turned their output to war produc-tion. The responsibility rested largely with the larger companies as today mining is largely a big company game. The days of the rich surface dis-coveries are gone. The bonanza mining days are gone. Modern min-ing requires a strong concern that can afford to gamble a million dollars or so on bringing a project to a successful conclu-sion. Long expensive prospecting and development campaigns are necessary today in the process of making a mine. Utah is fortunate In having a number of large companies active in the mining field. Among these are the Utah Copper company, the American Smelting & Refining com-pany, the United States Smelting, Refining and Mining company, the International Smelting & Refining company. The Silver King Coalition Mines company, the Tintic Stand-ard Mining company and the Park Utah Consolidated Mines company. During recent years all of these companies have expended vast sums in the development of Utah's Millions of dollars have been spent in tunneling through the rock of this mountainous ter-ritory in an effort to find more ore to replace that being mined. It takes big money and companies that are in a position to take great risk to keep the mining industry going. The Ontario tunnel at Park City and the Elton tunnel at Bingham are only two examples of deep exploration which cost in ex-cess of a million dollars each be-fore the ore was opened up. With these companies in the field. Utah mines were ready to answer any challenge when the war broke out. ' LITTLE MOMENTS IN BIG LIVES --""' ! I' I A OF EIGHT- - |
