Show EVEN THE DEMOCRATS THEMSELVES AReI STILL DAZED. As The Sun goes to press at 2 o'clock this (Friday) afternoon all the indications arc that Woodrow Wilson succeeds himself ns president of these United States. Results have been in doubt until late last night since early Wednesday Wednes-day morning, although at midnight of Tuesday everything pointed towards Hughes. This fight of the ballots has been n great one and with every inch of political ground contended for. The victor is the present incumbent of the highest office in the gift of the greatest nation on the face of the globe. The result being now definitely defin-itely settled, every good nnd patriotic .American citi7cn will help to uphold the president's hands. Utah hns gone for the democratic ticket in its entirety, including Simon Bamberger for governor, gover-nor, and a full set of state and county officials in most of the twenty-eight counties of the state. The governor elected Inst Tuesday is an nble business mnn nnd Utah has no better citizen. That Utah will have an honest nnd upright administration ad-ministration under Simon Bamberger is conceded conced-ed by all. The several state offlcinis chosen nt the some time are high-class men. Most all of them have made a success of their own affairs nnd should do as well for the commonwealth which they are to represent for four years. Carbon county was somewhat of a surprise to many folks ns well as was the vote in the Seventh Sev-enth Judicial district. The democrats have elected elec-ted their candidates to all but three offices of tho county sheriff, treasurer and clerk. With two of the three commissioners of the county democrats, the party is absolutely in control locally lo-cally and will be held to account. Hon. George Christcnscn of Mnnti nnd Hon. Knox Patterson of Monb are to be district judge and district attorney, at-torney, respectively. Each is most capable and honest. The Sun is n republican newspaper nnd espoused es-poused that cause during the campaign ns it hns ever since its establishment. However, it docs not propose to do any weeping or sulking over results. The democrats hnvc made a clean fight nnd nrc entitled to thnt which they have won. The Sun's management hns lived under green-backism, green-backism, the granger movement, prohibition, populism nnd scvcrnl other things political, and believes itself cnpnblc of going two to four years under bourbon rule in nation, state, county nnd precinct. Tho election is over nil except the official count. Lot's everyone of us get down to work for a greater and better Utah and Carbon county. |
