The Herald-Republican article went on to sny that U. F. Bauer, president of the American Fuel company, wns at the time in New York City nnd intimntcd that whilo there the deal unquestionably would be closed. 1 he atory wns used by The Sun In good faith, this newspaper not having time to confirm the story. The sale prlco of the American Fuel company was placed at around $1,500,000. It Is now officially denied by the head executive offices of the Utnh Fuel company at Salt Ijike City thnt any dcnl is on with the Am'erlcnn Fuel company or thnt such n-deal has ever been considered.
