Show FEDERAL GRAIN STANDARDS PREVENT PRICE INEQUALITY Misunderstandings ns to tho application appli-cation of the federal grain standards nnd as to tho benefits to he derived from tho solo of grain upon it grade basis have been tho cause of considerable, consider-able, dissatisfaction among producers and country elevator operators, but with tho passing of these misapprehensions misappre-hensions an ever Increasing sentiment is, being manifested in favor mf tho purchase nnd stile b grade nt country mints. Tho old syslchi of basing the price nt which wheat or other grain was bought from the farmer iiou the average av-erage quality of tho crop in uny community com-munity or section was totally unfair to tho producer of good grain. Under tho "mine nut" basis of purchasing grain tho producer of good grain received re-ceived no more for his clean, heavy wheat than did tho producer of lightweight light-weight and otherwise inferior grain. Instead of u premium upon heavy grain tho opposite was paid iimiii Inferior In-ferior products. Tho application of federal grain stiindards is calculated to jiroveut such inequality, and as exiieneuco is being had under the grading system growers aro finding that the pill pom) sought is being accomplished. |
