Show Busy Bakers The Busy Bakei-s held their opening meeting Monday, May 11 at the home of their leader, Mrs. Erma Klumm. Their assistant assis-tant leader is Mrs. Fern Colledge. Officers were elected for this year. They .are Jane Newman, president; Linda Yocom, vice president; Margret Gilbert, secretary sec-retary and treasurer; Carolyn Oolledge, reporter; Christie Klemm, songleader; Susanne Turner,, Tur-ner,, recreational director. Prayer was given by Carolyn Oolledge. The group will take up the second year food course. Phashun-ettes The Phashun-ettes 4-H Club of Manila met at the home of their leader, Mrs. Ross Young on Wednesday, May 13. Don! Christensen conducted. Officers of the club are Doni Christensen, president; Karla Monson, vice president; Dawna Lou Butt, secretary; Mary Wad-ley, Wad-ley, reporter; Nancy Stratton, program chairman and Lucile Or-mond, Or-mond, health and safety chairman. chair-man. The club is taking third year sewing and wont to Ghristensen's Store on Wednesday, May 6 to study materials and proper care of clothing. Clever Cloverettes The meeting of the Clever Cloverettes was called to order by President Judy Barton. After which the club members sa.ng "Clubwork Everywhere." Prayer was offered by Linda Oscarson. The club was then led dn the 4-H pledge. They were then favored by two talks given by June Jackson and Mrs. Gillman on Health and Safety. After club work and business was taken care of, the group discussed dis-cussed and were given intructions on how to prepare cheese and vegetable sandwiches, and a cottage cot-tage cheese and peanut sandwich. Two different and delicious drinks were served with the sandwiches, one being a banana milk shake. The food was prepared prepar-ed and served in the 4-H being Immensely enjoyed by all. Prayer was offered by June Jackson. D'Jeets The D'Jeets 4-H Club of Manila Man-ila held their weekly meeting at the home of itheir leader, Mrs. Fern Woolley, on Thursday, May 14. Joyce Swenson, president presided pre-sided over the meeting. The minutes min-utes of our last meeting were read by Sonetary Ann Pack. Song leader Mary Wadley lead the group in a song. The club members wade a oar-rot oar-rot and raisin salad, a banana and peanut salad, and a variety of yeast muffins. All turned out very tasty and even a little new. Members present were Sona Iverson, Lucille Ormond, Mary Wadley, Joyce Swenson, Dawna Lou Butt, Ruth Comaby, and leader, Mrs. Fern Woolley. Coofc'n Cuties The Cook'n Cuties 4-H Club of Manila held their second meeting at the home of their leader, Mrs. K. Adams. Annette Fugal conducted the opening exercise and April Hall gave the health lesson. The girls learned to make muffins muf-fins without the aid of quick mix and assignments for the following week were made. Happy Homemakers On Tuesday the first meeting of the Happy Homemakers was held at the home of Mrs. LaMar Beveridge. Officers were elected as follows: fol-lows: Sandra Green, president; Connie Andersen, vice president; Elaine Beveridge, vice president; Linda Henderson, secretary; Susan Sus-an Anderson and Norma Jean Brady, health chairmen; Cassie Stubbs and Laura Wadley, recreation rec-reation chairmen. Saundra Pullman and Linda Pate Pate, song leaders; Susan Clegg, reporter. Mrs. Beveridge and Mrs. Horace Hor-ace Andersen are the leaders and the project for this year is on "Home Improvement." Merry Stitchers The Merry Stitchers met with itheir leaders Chloe .Smith ana LaNeve McCandless last week. They started on their scarfs and checked on buttons sewed on during dur-ing the week. Opening prayer was offered by Lynell Maxfield and the pledge given by Carol Johnson. John-son. Nifty Nine The Nifty Nine met last week with their leader, Carolyn Gill-man. Gill-man. The mooting was called to order by Leona Gillman, pres- ident and the opening prayer given by Carolyn Gillman. Songs were sung after which the girls learned how to make several different dif-ferent sandwiches and milk shakes. Gay Clovers The Gay Clovers club met with their leader Velma Walker last week and started hemming and fringing their scarfs. The meeting meet-ing was called to order by La-Ree La-Ree Walker, president, after which LaNae Millett gave the opening prayer. The 4-H Club pledge was said by the entire club and minutes read and approved. |
