Show Viking Football Team Honored At Banquet Forty-odd State Champion Viking Vik-ing football players, their coaches, and principal were guests of honor hon-or at an informal "Stag Dinner" last night. The joyfest which got under way at 7:30 p.m. at the Grovecrest School lunch room, was sponsored by the Board of Directors Direc-tors of the Pleasant Grove Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce. According to K Adams, C of C president, the "For Men Only" fair was arranged "just to show our appreciation to a group of fine boys and their capable leaders." Mr. Adams reported that the menu served by the Grovecrest school lunch personnel was tops in quantity quan-tity and quality. It consisted of turkey and dressing, potatoes and gravy, fruit and vegetable salad, green beans, hot rolls and butter, celery, pickles, honey and milk. The program which followed the sumptious repast was infomial and spontaneous. Members of the football foot-ball squad furnished the numbers which ranged from nursery rhymes to vocal solos, with a few jokes thrown in. Stories and humorous incidents of the three-month football foot-ball campaign were related imd enjoyed by all present. Mr. Adams also stated that the "makings" of the meal were largely large-ly donated and that jnembers of the Boaid of Directors who attended at-tended paid for their own plates. Other incidental expenses which were nominal, were met by funds from the treasury. |
