Show DUP Camps to Hold Birthday Party Celebration Friday Four camps of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers of this area. Manila, Pleasant Grove, Battle Creek and Lindon will hold their combined birthday party celebration on Friday, Fri-day, Sept. 12 at 2 p.m. in the Relic Hall. Captain Cora W. Atwood of Manila Camp will be in charge. Native pioneers invited who will be honored are Josephine D. West. Joseph Larson ana Aionzo Hooley, and other native pioneers if any. Each camp will participate on the program. Manila will be responsible re-sponsible for music, under the direction dir-ection of Jeanette W. Warnick; Camp Pleasant Grove, Mrs. Pris-cilla Pris-cilla Christianson, will present a speaker, C. A. Fugal, who will tell of "Early Days in Pleasant Grove." Lindon Camp will give the lesson "They Came in '58." to be given by Margaret Holdaway. Battle Creek Camp, president Vivian Evans, Ev-ans, will have charge of refreshments. refresh-ments. Special feature of the program will be the presentation of two much-needed improvements for the building. A silk and velvet coverlet cover-let (crazy quilt) will be presented by Manila Camp. Mary Monson will make the presentation. There will also be the presentation presenta-tion of the plaque by Charles Hol-man Hol-man in memory of his mother, Annie An-nie Holman, to be placed on the outside of the building, designating what the building really is. Mrs. Lucille H. Walker will accept the plaque. All interested are most cordially invited to attend. |
