Show I Former Principal of PI. Grove High Dies in Yuma, Ariz. Professor Elmer Miller of the Brig-ham Young University and a former Principal of Pleasant Grove High School and Superintendent of Alpine District, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Merline Smith of Yuma, Arizona. His death came early last Sunday morning as a result of a heart attack. He was 69 years old. At the tune of his death Professor Profes-sor Miller was chairman of the economics department at BYTJ, where he had been a teacher since 1925. He had also taught previously previous-ly at Lehi High School and served as Superintendent of the Davis County schools. In 1914 he received his bachelor bachel-or of arts degree from Stanford University. He did graduate work at Harvard University, the University Uni-versity of California and the University Uni-versity of Chicago. Elmer Miller was bra March 22, 1887 in Spanish Fork, a son of James David and Emily Rebecca Snell Miller. On Nov. 25, 1914, he married Rosella Storrs in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Surviving are his widow; daughters, daugh-ters, Mrs. Merline Smith, Yuma, Ariz.; Mrs. Mildred; Mele, Long Island, N.Y.; Mrs. Anna Luo Miller, Salt Lake City; seven grandchildren grandchild-ren and one great-grandchild. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Margaret Mar-garet Wiscombe, Salt Lake City. |
