Show Junior Baseball Plans Slowed By Lack of Adult Workers Only three citizens showed up at the city hall for Uie purpose of formulating1 plans far the 1957 boys baseball prog-ram in Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove. Whether or not this means that their will be no Junior League or Pony League competition in this community during the coming summer remains to be seen. If the interest displayed to date by the fathers of the local boys is any criterion, things look rather rath-er on the black side for this year's boys baseball program. According to Glen Newman, Bill Lewis and Vaughn Barnett, the three who turned out for the initial in-itial meeting, another attempt will be made to activate the program. It is to be hoped that there are still a few adult males in Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove who have the welfare of the younger boys at heart. It might be well to remember that teenagers who specialize in stealing steal-ing second base are seldom interested in-terested in stealing gasoline. Think it over, fathers. |
