In "South Pacific" "South Pacific to Start Monday In U of U Stadium Handsome Swedish singer Rich-ai-d Collett will portray Emile de Becque Ezio Pinza's famous role as the French planter in the University Uni-versity of Utah's Summer Festival presentation of "South Pacific" Monday through Saturday, July 4-9. Collett, when he steps out before be-fore Stadium Bowl audiences to sing Rodgers' and Hammersteih's hit, "Some Enchanted Evening" will be repeating a familiar role. He has appeared as Emile de Becque more than 500 times, most recently during the musical comedy's com-edy's revival at New York's City Center. In Sweden,, Collett was well-known well-known as a singing tennis player until King Gustave one day told him he should make music his profession. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, graduated and started an operatic career which took him all over Europe. Pretty Kyle Mac Donnell will sing Mary Martin's role as Ensign Nellie Forbush. A full-scale presentation of excerpts ex-cerpts from Tschaikowsky's ballets bal-lets will be combined with the opera op-era "La Boheme" to make up the second Summer Festival production produc-tion July 13 to 16. Tickets for the two shows can be obtained by writing to the Summer Festival Box Office, University Uni-versity of Utah, ,Salt Lake City. Combination tickets for both productions pro-ductions range from $1.50 to $5. Single performance tickets for either show sell from $1 to $3. |
