Show AN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT TAX TO COVER THE COSTS OF SPECIAL IMPROVEMENTS IN SIDEWALK PAVING DISTRICT No. 4, PLEASANT GROVE CITY UTAH, AND PROVIDING FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF PROPERTY IN SAID DISTRICT. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PLEASANT GROVE CITY, UTAH: Section 1. For the purpose of raising revenue to pay the costs and expenses of special sidewalk paving improvements made during 1955 in Sidewalk Paving District No. 4 in Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove, Utah, the City Council does hereby levy a special improvement tax, and does hereby provide for the assessment thereof against the real property in said district hereinafter described. Section 2. This special tax is levied upon all real property bounding or abutting on the sidewalks which have been paved and which are hereinafter described, which property is to be especially affected and benefited by said improvements, and it is hereby adjudged and determined that all such property has been benefitecj by said improvements to the full amount of the taxes hereby levied and said lots and tracts of land ore hereby assessed in accordance with the linear foot frontage abutting on said sidewalks to the full depth of said lots and tracts of land. Section 3. The total cost of the above mentioned special improvements which have now been completed, is the sum of $5041.50 and the abutters portion of the costs and expenses is the sum of $3900.53 and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized auth-orized and directed to assess said abutting real property in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance and for the purpose above mentioned. Section 4. The special tax hereby levied and assessed upon abutting lots and tracts of land is $1 . 1 2 per front or linear foot on all property in front of which said paving and improvements have been constructed. Section 5. Said special tax assessments shall be due and payable at the office of the City Treasurer in Pleasant Grove, Utah in three equal annual instalments as follows: One-third tbsreof on the 15th day of December, 1955; one-third thereof on the 15th day of December, 1956 and the balance on the 15th day of December, 1957. Interest at the rate of 6 per annum shall be charged and collected on all unpaid portion of said assessments from December 15, 1955 until the said are paid. Any assessments which are not paid when the same become be-come due hereunder will be delinquent and the lots and tracts of land upon which said assessments are levied will be subject to special tax sale as provided by law. Section 6. The real property on which this special tax is levied is described as follows: All property abutting on the sidewalks side-walks w hich have been paved end improved including all lots and tracts of land facing west on First East street between Fourth North street and Seventh North street, and all lots and tracts of land facing east on Locust Avenue between Sixth South streets and a point which is 100 feet Southeasterly from the Northeast corner of the ot belonging to Mr. and Mrs Melvin Lemon, which said pcint is approximately at Eighth South on Locust Ave. The real property on which this special tax is levied is also further described as follows: Blocks 67BS, 67BN, 79S and 79N in Plat "A," and Blocks 1 G, 246 and 247 also in Plat "A," Official City Survey of Pleasant Grove City, 1939. Section 7. This Ordinance shall become effective twenty days after its publication as provided by law. Passed by the City Council of Pleasant Grove City, Utah . this 5th day of December, 1955.
