Show Gospel Doctrine . . . THOUGHTS ON RELIGION Following Is one of a series of articles on religious subjects, written or the Review by Harold Jacklln. former LDS Church missionary, by Harold Jarklin are the simplest and yet none are more glorious or important unto us. Faith is the first principle of revealed re-vealed religion. It is written that without faith it is impossible to please God. It is also written that the just shall live by faith. Therefore, There-fore, it is necessary for ali men to have faith in God, the Maker and Creator of all things, the Ruler of heaven and earth. Without faith worlds could not have been made; without it they could not be held in their positions; posi-tions; but by faith all things are possible with God and man. What we as individuals need to give the world more than anything else is an explicit faith in God, our Father and in Jesus Christ, His Son as the Redeemer of the world. Faith in God is ust as important impor-tant as a principle as' 'thou shalt not kill;" and we shall keep the whole law to have being in God and His Christ. r The gospel thnt we are commanded com-manded to preach is the power of God unto Salvation and the first principle of that gospel is Faith in God, and faith in Jesus Christ, our Savior. We must believe that He is the character He is represented to be in the holy scriptures. Believe that He told the truth when He said to His desciples, "Go ye forth and preach the gospel to every creature; crea-ture; he that believeth and is baptised shall be saved, and he that believeth not shall be damned." We must believe that this same' Jesus Christ was crucified for the sins of the world. We should seek with all our heart and soul to grow in grace, light and truth, that in due time we may receive a fullness. The Lord has a great many principles prin-ciples in store for us; and the greatest principle which He has for us is most simple and plain. The first principles of the Gospel which will lead us unto Eternal life |
