Show ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NEWS Three sections of Central Fifth grade students were in the Mt. Timpanogos area all day Wednesday Wednes-day planting trees and grass seeds, in cooperation with the U.S. Forest Service. They were accompanied by Principal Calvin Walker, Forest Ranger Mike Wright, and instructors Kenneth Ludlow, Herbert Gilbert and Iowa Io-wa Hall and Supervisor Margaret Johnson. ESN On Thursday, May 19, faculty members of Central enjoyed a steak dinner in the lunch room at 7 pjm. While the "cleanup committee was washing dishes, the others played volleyball. At 8:30 p.m. they all went for an old fashioned hayrlde. ESN Last Friday the two first grade classes at Centra entertained their parents with programs. Miss Margaret Hayes' group presented present-ed their program at 10 a.m. and the parents of Mrs. Daisy Niel' son's students were entertained at 1:30 p.m. ESN Saturday morning, May 28, the employee personnel of Central School will enjoy an "end of school" breakfast in American Fork canyon. ESN Misses Margaret Hayes and Jennie Gleason will leave June 7 for an extensive all-summer tour of Europe. They expect to return on September 1. ESN The Lindon school children kindergarten kin-dergarten thru third grade visited vis-ited the Fuch Tropical Fish store in Orem Monday. They saw a large variety of different types of fish. ESN The handicapped children at Lindon School held a prgram and party on Friday, May 20. They gave gifts to the matrons who have helped with the class this year, Miss ElDens Taylor, their regular teacher is ill and Mrs. Lola Taylor arranged the program. The school extends appreciation ap-preciation to Mrs. Taylor and also the matrons for their help. ESN The children at Lindon saw the film "So Dear to My Heart" as the final group gathering for this year. |
