Show Alpine Enrollment Up 741 at Start Of School Year School enrollments in the Alpine Districts were ifp 741 students over ov-er enrollments at the end of school last spring. Twelve thousand six hundred and thirty (12,630) students stu-dents were registered in the schools of the district on Friday, Sept. 2. When school closed last May, 11,-SS9 11,-SS9 students were in the schools of the District. It is anticipated that when all students are registered, the total number will exceed 12,750. This will mean that the district will increase in-crease by about 900 students this year. The largest increase has come in the elementary grades, according accord-ing to Dan W. Peterson, Director of Research and Public Relations. 635 more elementary students are now in school than were four months ago. The junior high school enrollment is about the same as it was when school closed. .Approximately .Ap-proximately a 100 student increase has been reported by the senior high schools. Most of the students who have not registered are high school students. A few of these older students are working in agricultural agri-cultural and related industries and are given some leeway in making up work missed by late registration. |
