Show K-Day Drive Starts Today in PI. Grove For Research Fund February 11 is K-Day in Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove. The "K" is for Kidney Disease. The "Day" is for battle; the day volunteer citizens caiTy their fight against the nation's fourth-Tanking fourth-Tanking killer disease to our community com-munity via colorful K-Day 'coin canisters placed in prominent locations lo-cations throughout the city. According to Mrs. Frank Daga, chairman of the 1960 drive, the contributions placed in special canisters will help support service ser-vice projects including a drug bank which supplies medicines to victims of nephrosis and other kidney diseases, and increased research re-search into illnesses which take thousands of lives each year. The Kidney Disease Foundation, Founda-tion, which estimates that at least three million Americans are victims of some form of kidney disease, sponsors research projects pro-jects at 45 leading universities and medical centers. Nephrosis, the campaign chairman chair-man pointed out, is only one of a soore of kidney diseases which require re-quire intensive research, into causes, cures and treatment.
