Show Editorial ... EXAMPLE BETTER THAN PRECEPT Findings of the recent city-wide nuisance and sanitary survey conducted by the City-County Health Department were revealing to say the least. According to the report, somel folks in Pleasant Grove are rather sloppy outdoor housekeepers. house-keepers. Consider the matter of weeds. In some cases last year's crop has produced millions of seeds and is now brown and dry, begging to be raked up and burned. One of the worst of these forlorn and unsightly weed patches is the area to the east and south of the old city hall. There's actually a two-year's growth. In addition, bushes and brambles have grgown up to make a "forest primeal." The entire setup is not only a disgraceful eyesore, but an extreme fire hazard as well. The fact that the property is city-owned only tends to make the problem more acute. No one yet has been able to disprove the theory that teaching by example is the best method of education discovered dis-covered yet. This alone should be sufficient to stimulate our City Fathers to bestir themselves and sweep their own back door-yard door-yard clean. Perhaps then, others might "go and do likewise." |
