Rogers, who has been President of the Pleasant Grove Lions Club for the past year turns over the gavel and bell to the new president Wallace Saling at installation ceremonies Wednesday evening. Wallace Saling Is Installed As President of Pleasant Grove Lions Club Wednesday Evening At their regular meeting held at the Alpine Grille Wednesday nite officers for the 1953-54 fiscal year of the Pleasant Grove Lions Club were installed. Under the direction direct-ion of Program Chairman H. E. Bradley, the following key members mem-bers of the club officiated in the installation ceremony: Gerald Bel-liston, Bel-liston, Junius A. West, H. E. Bradley, Brad-ley, Wm. C. Smith, Alma Kirk and Boyd Fugal. The following officers were installed: in-stalled: President Wallace Saling; Vice President, Harold Woolston; Secretary-treasurer, C. A. Ras-mussen; Ras-mussen; Administrative Committee Commit-tee Supervisor, Dewey Adamson; Activity Committee Supervisor, George Smith; two year directors Sam Jackson and A. B. Gibson; Lion Tamer, Willis Banks; Tail Twister, Vern Gillman. Hold over directors from last year are Kay Jacobs and Geo. L. Jaynes. I Special Tail Twister of the evening eve-ning Geo. L. Jaynes carried out a Fund Raising Scheme to help defray expenses at the recreation park. After apparently raising several sev-eral thousand dollars it was found that "Bogus" money was being used and each member participating participat-ing was fined a dime. Prtsident Saling awarded 13 members 100 per cent attendance pins for the past winter months. This is an excellent record for a club the size of Pleasant Grove. Aura Hatch of the Provo Lions Club was the guest speaker and brought out many fine thoughts regarding our responsibilities and service to our communities. The meeting was under the direction dir-ection of Immediate Past President. Presi-dent. A. J. Rogers, who expressed his appreciation for the support members of the club had given him during his year in office. |
