Show Woman of SO in death riddle police chiefs go to inquest ' WHY DID SHE DIE?' BAFFLES DOCTOR HOI police chiefs who went to the inquest yesterday on an 80-year-old widow heard her doctor say he had been unable to discover what caused her death. The Inquest on Mrs. ' Clara Ellen Toy was adjourned at Hastings for a month for certain organs to be examined. The Chief Constable of Hastings went along with his C.I.D. chief, Detective Inspector James Longhur.st. Dr. J. McPherson Harker told the Inquest that, he first, saw Mrs. Toy last, Thursday at her home in West, Hill, St. Leonards. She had abdominal pains, but he could not make a definite diagnosis. He sent her to hospital, where she died on Monday. A nephew of Mrs. Toy said that for the past six months she had been living with a Mr. and Mrs. Marriott. Mrs. Marriott, a nurse, had been looking after her. |
