Show i Local People Enjoy Visit to Arizona And California Mi and Mrs. Alroy Gillman, their son Larry, and Mr. Gillman's mother Mrs. Annie Gillman, returned re-turned home Suday after spending two weeks in Arizona, Old Mexico Mex-ico and Southern California. When Annie Mott Gillman was a young girl of seven she traveled travel-ed with her family to Mesa, where they were sent to colonize. That was 65 years ago. The Gillman's did work in the Mesa Temple while they were there, then motored motor-ed to Los Angeles by way of Yuma and Old Mexico. In Los Angeles they visited the site of the Los Angeles Temple and the Church Farm at Riverside. The Gillmans visited Mr. and Mrs. Carl McBride in Pheonix, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Studstrup & son Jimmy of McGill, Nevada, spent the weekend here with their parents and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Irving Johnson and other relatives. i and with the Morrel Gillmans - and Hakel Pomeroys in Los Ang-' Ang-' eles. i The route taken by the Gillman's Gill-man's was much the same as when young Annie went over it 65 years ago. , On Tuesday Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Armitstead entertained Mr. and Mrs. Henry Maag of Provo and Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Madson of Lakeview, at dinner. Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Walker, on Sunday evening, following the Lindon ward conference, entertained enter-tained the stake presidency and their wives and the Lindon ward Bishopric and ward clerk and their wives. A social hour with tasty refreshments was enjoyed. The Timpanogos Stake Play, "The Timber" is well underway and rehearsals are smoothing out difficult parts. The play is directed dir-ected by F. Richard Paulson, and is scheduled for December 11 and 12 at the Pleasant Grove High School. 'Among local people attending the Utah Symphony Orchestra concert, at the Smith Building on Wedensday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. C. Smith, Mrs. Oral Wright and Miss Beverly Wright, Mrs. H. W. Jacobs, Miss Esteile Fenton, and Mrs. Irwin Jensen. m Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrss. Karl Butler were Mr. and Mrs. Dallace Butler and two children child-ren of Eagar, Arizona. The out of state visitors had spent Thanksgiving Thanks-giving with Mr. Butler's parents at Kingston, Utah, and visited with their brother and family here before returning home. |
