Show Funeral Services Held Tuesday For Elizabeth C. Ash Impressive funeral services were conducted in the Lindon ward chapel Tuesday for Mrs. Elizabeth C. Ash, 86. The services conducted by Bishop LeGrand Ercanbrack began at 1 p. m. with prayer by Joseph Ash. A vocal solo, "That Wonderful Mother of Mine," was sung by Mrs. Doris Johnson, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Margaret Caldwell. Cald-well. A sketch of the long and useful lifeof Mrs. Ash, was read by a granddaughter, Miss Afton Ash. Speakers who paid tribute to Mrs. Ash for her long life of service ser-vice to her large family and to her church and community were Alroy Gillman, former bishop of Lindon and J. W. Gillman of Orem. Music interspersing the speakers included a vocal duet, "Beyond the Sunset" by Mrs. Roland Smith and Mrs. Clark Edwards, accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Caldwell, and a mixed quartette number, "O My Father" by Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Caldwell Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Edwards. After closing remarks of sympathy sym-pathy and appreciation by Bishop Ercanbrack, the Lindon Singing Mothers directed by Mrs. Doris Johnson rendered the closing number num-ber "Sometime We'll Understand." Benediction was pronounced by Patriarch D. B. Thorne. Prayer at the mortuary, preceding pre-ceding the service was offered by A. L. Cullimore, of Provo, a brother. Prelude and postlude organ music -was played by Mrs. Gerald Caldwell. Burial directed by Olpin Mortuary Mortu-ary was made in the Pleasant Gorve Cemetery, where Bishop Wm. Green of Ogden, a brother in law offered the dedicatory prayer. Flowers were cared for and arranged ar-ranged by the Lindon ward Relief Society. Pallbearers, all grandsons of the departed were: Don, Romell, Dean H., Jesse and Jay O. Ash, and Wm. Floyd" Fackerell. Mrs. Ash died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thelma Fack-erall Fack-erall Saturday after an illness of many years. Mrs. Ash was born in Lindon, Jan. 31, 1965, a daughter of James and Clara Fowlke Cullimore. She was married to George Ash in the Logan Temple October 24, 1884. Mr. Ash died October 2, 1941. She was the mother of eleven children, ten of whom are now living: liv-ing: Mrs. May Gillman and Ernest Ash, both of Lindon; William Ash, Orem; Mrs. Maude Nelson, Salt Lake City; Cecil Ash, Lehi; Ezra O. Ash, Salt Lake City; Arnold Ash, Provo; Mrs. Elva Peterson, Lehi; Elden L. Ash, Springville; and Mrs. Thelma Fackerell, Salt Lake City. A son Leonard Ash preceded her in death. She is also survived by one brother A. L. Cullimore, Cul-limore, Provo and two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Cluff, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Etta Greenwood, Ogden. 34 grand children, 50 great grandchildren, grand-children, and one great-great grandchild. |
