Show Flood Control Problems Are Considered The old creek channels through Pleasant Grove have become com-, com-, pletely filled up, and the only possible poss-ible means of taking care of any large amount of runoff or flood waters will have to be handled through the irrigation system. This was the report made Monday evening ev-ening at a general meeting held in the city hall, at which Burton H. Adams, county commissioner, Stephen Ste-phen R. Boswell, county agricultural agricult-ural agent, members of the irrigation irrig-ation company, city officials and other citizens participated. Following the discussion a committee com-mittee of citizens with Leo Harvey as chairman was appointed to take the necessary action to widen and clean out the main ditches in order that high water or flood waters could be taken care of. Pleasant Grove has been most fortunate in the past few years in not having any floods, but every precaution should be taken to prepare pre-pare for such a condition. Property owners along main ditches are to be contacted and every possible cooperation should be given to the committee. The county will cooperate with local residents in the work of cleaning clean-ing out old channels and protecting protect-ing property damage in case of flood. |
