Show Lions Hold Business Meeting At Grill On Wednesday A very interesting business meeting of the Pleasant Grove Lions club was held Wednesday night at the Alpine Grill with Lion President S. Christensen handling ' a multiplicity of affairs. , Lion Junius A. West called for a report from each of his committee com-mittee regarding the sale of the recently published book "Timpan-ogos "Timpan-ogos Town" which is a history of Pleasant Grove. The Lions Club instigated and sponsored jointly with the author, Howard R. Driggs the publication of "Timpanogos Town". Each member has been given a district to cover in presenting pres-enting the book to the public in this area. Although no exact figures fig-ures are as yet available according to the chairman in charge of sales, in each of the wards, the sale is progressing quite satisfactorily with many families buying several copies which they intend to use for anniversaries and birthdays of various var-ious members of their families, especially es-pecially those now living away from P. G. It is intended that every home in town be contacted and given the opportunity of buying to fill their needs. A short, but to the point report of the recent Lions convention meeting at the Newhouse Hotel in Salt Lake City, honoring International Inter-national President Briggs was given giv-en by Lion S. W. Hilton, who with five other local Lions attended this affair. A fine time was reported report-ed an t each claimed that it was the most enjoyable party of those held in recent years. During the meeting Lion David Gouriey, a recent 'addition to the local club was honored by the presentation to him by Secretary John Duder of the International Lions 20 year charter membership chevron. Lion Gouriey was a char-Le- member of the American Fork club and in the course of 20 years of maintained membership he has well earned this signal honor as awarded by Lions International. At a previous meeting nine other oth-er members were awarded 10 year Charter Chevrons, having been charter members of the Pleasant Grove Lions club at its organization organiz-ation in October, 1938. Those receiving re-ceiving 10 year chevrons were J. A. West, Alma Kirk, Lewis Olpin, J. LeF.-iy Thorne, Wesley Jense, Ray Merrill, Dr. G. Y. Anderson, S. W. Hilton and H. E. Bradley. Six of these Lions are also past presidents of this club. A panel discussion on Pleasant Grove business conditions and prospects pro-spects conducted under the tutelage tute-lage of Lion A. B.
