Show Jaycees Promote Clean-Up Week In Pleasant Grove April 1st to 6th inclusive has been designated as Pleasant Grove's Clean Up and Paint Up Week with a proclamation by Mayor May-or Harvey Smith, and the campaign cam-paign is being conducted by the Junior Chamber of Commerce. The Mayor's proclamation calls for a half holiday on Wednesday April 6th, and asks that all stores and places of business be closed for the afternoon of that day. During the past several years the people of Pleasant Grove have cooperated wonderfully in making their homes and surroundings more beautiful and the Jaycee committee, committ-ee, headed by David Green, asks their cooperation this year in making mak-ing this city Utah's Cleanest city. Chairman Green also reports that the Boy Scouts are cooperating cooperat-ing in the Clean Up campaign, and also reports that trash collections will be made by the city during the week for those having no way to take their trash to the garbage grounds. Anyone wanting this service ser-vice should call the city hall. The garbage dump will be open all week. The following Paint dealers are cooperating in making special reductions re-ductions in Paint during the Clean Up Week. Alpine Builders, Atwood Appliances, C. I. Bullock, Radmall Hardware and Pleasant Grove Lumber and Supply Co. It is hoped that this year's Clean Up and Paint Up campaign will be as successful as last years campaign cam-paign and we can be proud of the looks of our city. In addition to Mr. Green, the following men are on the Central Committee, Thomas Tittenser, Ray Mills and Arnold Clawson. |
