Show Services Are Held For Bert L. Richins Friends and relatives gathered in the Third Ward Chapel last Saturday for the funeral services of Bert L. Richins, who died at the home of a sister Mrs. Ira Dev-eraux, Dev-eraux, on Wednesday, Nov. 30. With Bishop Calvin Walker in charge, the services began at 2 o'clock. Dean, Dale and Dick Dev-eraux Dev-eraux sang the opening number "When I Take My Vacation In Heaven." They were accompanied 'by Mary Vance. Prayer was offered by C. A. Rasmussen. Speakers were George Paul and Jos. S. Walker. Both spoke words of the responsibility and untiring work of rearing families and expressed ex-pressed sympathy for the family. Musical numbers interspersing the speakers were: a duet, "Whispering "Whis-pering Hope sang by Alta and Dor-al Dor-al Richins of Grantsville, accom-1 panied by Lucille Littleford, and a vocal solo "Face To Face" by Ray Shelley, accompanied by Mrs. Owen Humphries. Tribute and expression of sympathy sym-pathy were offered by Bishop Calvin Cal-vin Walker. ' Dale, Dean, and Dick Deveraux sang the closing number "Softly and Tenderly Jesus Is Calling," accompanied by Mary Vance. Benediction was pronounced by C. A. Fugal. Burial directed by Olpin Mortuary Mor-tuary was made in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery where J. C. Hilton offered the dedicatory prayer. pray-er. JPallbearers all close relatives included James A. Carter, Robert H. Richins, Lloyd Richins, Jr., Glen M. Johson and Neil Richins. Flowers were arranged by PI. Grove 3rd ward Rcljef Soociety. and Ellen Green Richins. He lived in Pleasant Grove, Provo and I Orem. Mr. Richins was born at Pleasant Grove, Aug. 5, 1900, a son of Mark He was married to Jennie Sorenson Sor-enson in January, 1920. They later were separated. Surviving are 10 sons and daugh ters: Mrs. May Johnson, Lindon; Mrs. James A. Carter, Lehi; Mrs. Helen Jacob. Provo; Mrs. Bertie Lou Wilson, French Camp. Calif.; Ray Richins, with the Navy at Gaum; Paul, Janice, Dixie, Mick-ell, Mick-ell, and Penny Richins, Orem. 13 grand children; two sisters and 4 brothers: Mrs. Deveraux, and Mrs. May Phillips, Pleasant Grove; El-vin El-vin Richins, Stockton, Calif.; Lloyd Richins, Hurricane; Oral and William Will-iam Richins, Grantsville. |
