Show Q Here are some winners win-ners in the seventh annual an-nual "News Pictures of The Year" competition sponsored jointly by the University of Missouri school of journalism and the Encyclopedia Britannica. More than 3,000 pictures were judged in the international interna-tional competition, representing rep-resenting the work of 594 photographers from 32 states. At right, "Bull's Eye," by John Rammell, Decatur, III., Herald-Review, won first prize in the sports division. di-vision. This was one of the pictures from smaller small-er dailies that scored impressively im-pressively in the competition, compe-tition, encouraging sponsors spon-sors in the belief that emphasis on photo-journalism is being felt to ! an increasing degree. 1 . it"' i ' s 8 1 f f ' i O Warren Lee of Acme, who captioned this photo (above) "Death in Shanghai," won first place over 591 rivals in the news event picture competition. The picture pic-ture shows the street execution of Communists by a Shanghai policeman. At right, "A Slight Breeze in Chicago," Chi-cago," by Thomas L.
