Vikings Outclass Pioneers The Pleasant Grove High School defeated the Lehi Pioneers, 40-31,' on the Pee Gee floor Friday, January 13 to even their won lost column. The Grovers didn't look much like the team that Was defeated by the A. F. boys a week ago, as the whole outfit played stellar ball. The Vikings jumped to an early lead and never gave it up, but the Lehi boys gave them a few real scare in the final minute of the third quarter and all through the last canto. The Vikings had worked up a sizeable lead when the regular center, Hamann, fouled out midway mid-way in the third quarter. After this, the Lehi quint all started to swish the net consistently, but the main threat was taken out of the game via the foul route. Ivan Allred is due for no little praise for his fine work after Hamann left the game. Not only did he play a fine defensive role, but he also cut the strings for eleven counters. He shared top scoring honors with Hamann, the team's other man. Poem Wins Award Our Journalism Class and I the P. G. H. S. are proud of one of its teachers.
