Show PI. Grove Locals Gordon and Kay Bowen of Grace, Idaho, are visiting at the home ot Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Hilton. Mrs. Fern Hicks was recently appointed ap-pointed Registrar of Vital Statis-i Statis-i tics. She will succeed Mrs. Grace Nielson. Mr. and Mrs. Will Sterling, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Doolin, and Mrs. Vie Russell of Salt Lake City spent Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Will Green. Mrs. Alonzo Hanson and children of Ephraim are spending their two week's vacation with the former's mother, Mrs. Inez Olpin. Miss Ruth Fage or Lindon, who is employed as a nurse at the L. D. S. hospital spent Sunday, Monday Mon-day and Tuesday with her mother, Mrs. Mary B. Fage. Mrs. Jennie Jensen, Mrs. Maggie Jensen, both of Provo, and Mi's. Petrca Frandsen of Sevier county, called on old girlhood friends, Mrs. Matilda Christiansen, and Mrs. Sena Christiansen Saturday afternoon. These associates had not met for many years. The family of F. C. Shoell and of Eugene Webb of Lehi enjoyed a reunion at Granite Flat in American Amer-ican Fork canyon on the Fourth of July. The party first witnessed the parade at Provo, later going to the canyon for a delicious dinner. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Fred O. Shoell, Mi-, and Mrs. Ar-mond Ar-mond Webb and children of Lehi, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Webb and family, fam-ily, of Chinook, Montana, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Webb and family, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Webb and two children, chil-dren, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Wat-kins Wat-kins of Salt Lake, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shoell and son, Robert, of Pleasant Grove. Mrs. James Simmons returned to her home Monday morning after a week's stay with her mother in Springville. Mr. King Drysdale. who is assistant as-sistant manager of the W. T. Grant store in Los Angeles, 'California left Friday morning to return home by way of the San Francisco Exposition, Ex-position, after spending a few days in Pleasant Grove. He came to bring his mother home from a six week's vacation in California. Mr. and Mrs. Elton Sumner and children, of Provo, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Beck, Sunday. Miss Rhea Horten, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Horten of San Francisco is visiting her aunt, Mrs. Mary Miller. Mrs. Ilia Johnson of Orem and small son, Paul, are staying at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Hard-man. Hard-man. H. S. Walker was the guest speaker speak-er at the Timpanogos Boy Scout camp in Provo canyon Monday night. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Cobbley returned re-turned Sunday from a four days vacation trip trough Bryce, Zion, and Grand canyons. Vard Johnson spent last week in Idaho where he visited relatives, and also the Crater's of the Moor-national Moor-national monument and other points of interest. Mrs. Karl Kelsch (LaRue Wright) of Provo, entertained at a dinner party in honor of her twentieth birthday and that of her twin sister, Mrs. Leon Yates of Lehi. Special guests besides Mr. and Mrs. Yates, were the parents of the hostess, Mr. and Mrs. Elden Wright of Lindon. Miss Mildred Carlson, who has been staying at the home of her brother, LaVar Carlson in Spanish Fork during the illness of Mr. Carlson's Carl-son's wife, returned to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Carlson. Carl-son. Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Carlson came with her and spent the day. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Webb, and son, Blaine, who have been visiting for two weeks at the home of Mrs. Webb's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Shoell, left Saturday morning for their home in Chinook, Montana. Mon-tana. Mr. Webb is employed with the Utah-Idaho Sugar company there. Mr. and Mrs. Aries Steiner and children of Santa Monica, California, Cali-fornia, who are vacationing in Utah, and visiting their parents, left Monday morning for Yellowstone Yellow-stone Park. They were accompanied accompan-ied by Mi-, and 'Mrs. W. D. Batche-lor Batche-lor of Santa Monica, and Miss Grace Norris of Salt Lake. Mr. Clifford Adamson motored to Marion Wednesday of last week to take his niece, Betty Simper back to her home. The latter had been staying with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Adamson. They were accompanied on the trip by another niece, Miss Elma Cobbley of Salt Lake, who was to stay for a few days. 0 Mr. and Mrs. Bert L. Kirkwood (Wanda Adams) will leave Sunday night for a motor trip with stops at Boulder Dam, Los Angeles, Cat-alina, Cat-alina, and the fair at San Francisco. Fran-cisco. They expect to be gone about two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Galli of Midway, Mr. Lewis Galli, and son of Duchesne, Mrs. Lewis Sweat of Center Creek, her daughter, Mi's. Lois Anderson of Logan, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Fugal and Mr. and Mrs. Odis Bemis on Sunday afternoon. |
