Show FIRST WARD M. I. A. ENJOY SPECIAL ACTIVITIES ON TUESDAY EVENING Several special activities were held in the First Ward Mutual on Tuesday evening. Following class work the special interest group enjoyed a social at the church. Program numbers including in-cluding a reading by Lyean Johnson John-son and vocal numbers, "I Hear You Calling Mc." by Mrs. Bci-nicc Christensen, "Old Refrain" by Miss Estellc ienton. " Later games anti refreshments were enjoyed by about forty class members, and guests. Committee on arrangements v as Miss Estelle Fen ton, Mrs. Ertman Christensen and Mrs. Chas. A. Harper. The Gleaners and their leader Mrs. Lola Bullock were entertained by Mrs. Jtr.eall T. r home. The girls worked on their special project: That of writng letters let-ters to the service men o'f the ward; 1 letter a month to each of the more than 100 service men. Mrs. Bullock then read to the class a letter from Sergeant Ray Mills, who is stationed somewhere on the European Western front. This being inspirational night Mrs. Donna Ash gave a talk to the girls a talk on the future of Youth. The fifteen girls present were: Misses Bliss Jarvis. Betty Bullock. Corrine Partridge, Louise Brimhall. Louise Armitstead. Cora Richins. Louise D. West.. Lola Jensen, Ada Robbns. Maxine Nelson and Mrs. LuJean Sundberg, Janeall Fautin. Wanda Bullock, June Christensen, Barbara Baxter. The fcirls of the Junior Class held a Fireside chat last Sunday e-vening e-vening following sacrament meeting meet-ing at the Oscar Evans home. Host-eses Host-eses were Misses Delna Evans and Mavis Loader. Sergeant Delbert J. Harris recently returned from 22 months on the Italian battlefront. talked to the girls on Rome, and on culture and customs of the Italian Ital-ian people. Violin and piano numbers num-bers were played bv Delna and Joyce Evans. Refreshments were enjoyed by 12 girls present. |
