Show Pleasant Grove Locals Word has been received by Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Fufc'al of the birth of a grandson, the parents being Mr. and Mrs. Jean Fugal of Milford. The mother and baby are in the Milford hospital. Mr. Thomas Shipley of Salt Lake City is sending this week with his sister, Mrs. A. K. Thornton. . Mrs. Lynn Wright of Twin Falls was a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Walker Friday of last week. Mrs. Harvey Smith, Mrs. H. E. Farr and Mrs. Jo Clayson of Pro-vo Pro-vo motored to Nephi Wednesday to visit with Mrs. Maybelle Dickerson. Mrs. W. E. Taylor of Compton, California, spent several days this week visiting with her father, J. L. Harvey, and her brother and sister, Mr. L. P. Harvey and Mrs. Harold Walker. Mrs. Tyler also attended general L. D. S. conference at alt Lake City last week. Her husband is the bishop, of the Compton ward. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Harper of Idaho were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Harper Friday. The former is a brother of Duane's, and is a bishop of the Rose ward in Black-foot Black-foot stake. Together they attended L. D. S. conference in Salt Lake. The visitors returned home Sunday evening. Mrs. Thomas Fenton visited relatives rela-tives in Payson Thursday and Friday. Fri-day. Mrs. C. R. Clark and daughters, Violet, Elda and Alta, attended the birthday party given by Mrs. Ro-maine Ro-maine Clark of Midvale for her four-year -old son, Ronald, Friday afternoon. Bonnie Winters, the small daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Winters, is out of school this week as a result re-sult of injuries received in a fall from a tree. She had been playing in a tree play house at the Winter's home. Climbing higher among the branches she slipped and fell, injuring in-juring her back and ankles. Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Adamson were Mr. and Mrs-. William Whittle and son, Jack, of Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Williams of Glendale, California, were Monday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Holdaway. They also called on Mr. and Mrs. James Adamson. Ad-amson. Mr. Williams is bishop of Glendale ward and had been in Salt Lake attending conference. His , wife was formerly Sadie Halliday of this city, and a niece of Mrs. Holdaway and Mr. Adamson. Mrs. Isaac Sundberg had a very pleasant surprise Monday morning I when she received a telephone call j from her daughter, Mrs. Owen Culli-more Culli-more in New York. The latter, visiting visit-ing the World's Fair there was the winner of the free long distance call given by the Bell Telephone company. Her little daughter Karen, Kar-en, who was with her, was permitted by listening in on another telephone, to hear the conversation and her 'grandmother SundDerg's voice. Ensign David A. Green and wife of Pensacola, Florida, accompanied their parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Green, on a pleasure trip to Salt Lake City Saturday afternoon. They were all guests at a dinner party given in their honor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ferguson at Provo, Tuesday evening. Ensign En-sign Green and Mrs. Green left Wednesday morning to return to Pensacola, where he will be an instructor in-structor at the U. S. naval air base. Before leaving he gave an instructive instruc-tive talk on naval aeronautics for a group of Scouts at Provo. Mrs. Pearl McMillan entertained at a children's party in honor of the eighth birthday of her son, Kenneth, Friday afternoon. The guests were made happy with a lovely birthday cake with candles, a luncheon, and out-door games. Those present were Kathleen Green, Carol McMillan, Ronald and Mary Peterson, Geraldine Thome, Kay and Dixie West, Gayle Thome and LaMont Allen. 1 |
