Show WITH THE SERVICE : MEN : 'Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Hilton have received word irom their son Glade that he is stationed at Camp Roberts, California. Mrs. H. W. Jacobs received a telephone call Tuesday evening from her son Ensign Kay Jacobs, that he has received his discharge from the U. S. Navy Air Corps, at Beaufort, South Carolina. Pvt. Wesley E. Shields is spending spend-ing a 15 day furlough here with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt Shields. Pvt. Shields has been stationed stat-ioned eight months with the A. A. Fotcc-3 in Texas. On Nov. third he will report at Las Vegas for overseas assignment. Verdun Monson is spending a thirty day furlough here and with his family in American Fork. He has just returned from Germany where he spent 8 months. After visiting with his wife and small son I he will report back to ForE Douglas. , He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mar- tin Monson of American Fork. After more than three and one half years in the U. S. Navy Elden L. Wilkinson has been released and is at the home of his sister and brother in law, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Tomlinson. He spent 19 months in the Pacific and for the last year has been staioned at Corpus 'Chris-ti, 'Chris-ti, Texas. He was an aviation Radio Man 2 c. Bill Gardiner, veteran Marine fighter from the Pacific, received his discharge from the U. S. M. C. feceritliy, and has returned home with his brother Boyd, also a marine veteran, and they are enjoying en-joying the deer hunt. The 2 brothers broth-ers who fought together in the Jungles of the Pacific Islands are happy to be together on a deer hunt. Viron Washburn has doffed his uniform and returned this week to civilian life with his wife Mary Jense Washburn and little daughter daugh-ter Marianne. Mr. Washburn entered en-tered the armed forces in Dec. 1943 and left for overseas in Jan 1945. Since then he has served in Indiaa, Burma, and China. He attained the rank of Corporal and has the good conduct medal and battle star. When hostilities ceased, ceas-ed, he was stationed at Kunming, 1 Ghina. He received his discharge Monday, October 22 at Ft. Douglas. |
