Show Influenza Still Increasing In Entire State The epidemic of influenza continues con-tinues to increase in number of cases though the type remains mild. It is reported that about 25 per cent of the students of the schools have been affected but no teachers have been out of school yet. Reports from local health officers of-ficers throughout the state for the week ending December 24, show a marked increase in the ; total number of cases of com-, com-, municable diseases due largely to the further spread of influenza. A total of 5,723 cases of influen-i influen-i za were reported as compared , with 1,205 for the previous week. The cases were pretty generally distributed throughout the State , although a few counties have apparently escaped the infec- tion thus far. The fact that the i infection is of a moderately mild , type is probably an important factor in the spread of the di-L di-L seasc. Immediate isolation of , the patient with adequate pre- cautions as to sterilization of his eating utensils will often prevent other members of the family from contracting the disease. |
