Show You Can't Vote If You Aren't Registered The first registration days this year are next Tuesday, Tues-day, August 13, and Saturday, August 17. The first primary is Tuesday, September 3. You can't vote if you arent registered. To fully exercise the privilege of citizenship, people of voting age may well recognize the importance of voting in ALL of the coming elections. By voting in the primaries as well as in the November elections, the people have a voice in the selection of the candidates. To be qualified to vote in Utah, one must be at least 21 years of age and must have lived in the state one year, in the county four months, and in the precinct 60 days, and must be a REGISTERED VOTER. If you did not vote in the last general election two years ago, or are in doubt as to whether your name is on the registration books, you should make sure. The registration dates are August 13 and 17; September Sep-tember 10 and 17; and October 8, 15, 29 and 30. Registration agents for American Fork are Mrs. T. A. The greatest privilege and the gravest responsibility of the citizen of a democracy is the right and duty to vote. Through the ballot the people speak. Every citizen should do his part in running the government to assure the perpetuation perpetua-tion of democratic ideals. Remember, a missed vote is gone forever. Don't fail to register make sure you will be entitled to vote. And VOTE. |
