Wright was in Ogden Tuesday Tues-day on a business trip for the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove Canning company. Blaine Swenson, who is employed ' at Woodruff, Utah, spent Sunday with Pleasant Grove relatives. David B. Thorne was in Salt Lake City Tuesday on business regarding the Lindon-Orem Dairy Company. Mr. and Mrs. John Green of Mills, Utah, visited Sunday with Mrs. Green's mother, Mrs. Eleanor West. Virginia Haslam came home Sunday Sun-day from the Aird hospital at Provo after a successful operation for appendicitis. ap-pendicitis. The Windsor ward Sunday School held a program Tuesday night. John Muzzell, superintendent, was in charge. Dean Johnson will leave the last of the week for Logan to attend the U. S. A. C. He will do special work in accounting. Mr. and Mrs. Burnell West of Logan, have been visiting the past week with Mr. West's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester G. West. Ray Beers was operated on Thursday Thurs-day at the L. D. S. hospital in Salt Lake City for an infection in the right knee. His condition is improving. im-proving. Mrs. LeRoy Thorne returned home Monday from the Crane Maternity Home at Provo on Monday, bringing with her a new baby girl, tMrn about ten days ago. Mildred Swenson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Swenson has accepted a position as Domestic Science teacher at the Lincoln High School. . ; Word has been received by relatives rela-tives of the marriage of Miss Nina Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew A. Johnson, and Charles Helf, of Cedar City. Their many relatives and friends are showering congratulations. The Timpanogos Stake Genealogical Genea-logical board held a meeting Monday Mon-day night to plan for the coming winter's work. Each ward in the stake is expected to hold regular weekly meetings every Wednesday night to complete the year's work. The Windsor ward Relief Society held the last of their summer socials Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Nona Baxter Bax-ter was in charge of arrangements. Two other socials have been held the past summer, with Mrs. Hazel Marrott and Mrs. Estelle Gillman in charge. The regular meetings each month begins the first Tuesday in October. o The firemen held their monthly fire drill Monday evening. Wesley Keetch had his tonsils removed last Saturday. Miss LaRene Cooper returned to her school work at Ogden, Monday. Miss Gennieve Fugal will be employed em-ployed in the Springville High School the coming winter. Miss Eva Yancey returned Friday Fri-day from a two weeks' visit with the I. K. Williams family at Emery. Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Larson made a business trip to Salt Lake City, Tuesday. Avery Houston of Salt Lake City visited Sunday with his mother, Mrs. Lettie Houston. Mrs. Martha Jones was hostess to the ladies of the Mother's club Thursday afternoon at her home. Thorne returned Sunday evening from a week-end visit with her sister, Mrs. Mary Mc-Kell Mc-Kell at Payson. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Giles and son, Bert, and daughter, Helen, were guests Wednesday at the James D. Thorne home. Mr. and Mrs. Harold A. Thorne and children of Sal)t Lake City, were guests Tuesday of their parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. James D. Thorne. Mrs. May Green of Salt Lake City, is visiting this week with her sister, Mrs. George W. Larson, and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Olson and daughter, Margaret, motored to Delta Del-ta Thursday. Miss Nelson will be employed in high school work there the coming winter. Elwood Baxter, who has been teaching at the grade' school for several years will teach in the Lindon Lin-don school this year. The Misses Ruth Walker and Genevieve Farr, and the Messrs. Blaine Richards and La were nee Farr enjoyed a trip to the Municipal Baths at Salt Lake City, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Keetch are proud parents of a fine 8 pound baby boy, born Tuesday morning at their Lindon home. Mother and baby are doing nicely. George Richards, J. L. Theobald and Lettie Houston were among the throng to attend the amateur state Baseball league tournament at Salt Lake City, Saturday. Robert Walker, who has been principal of the Lindon school for a number of years, will teach at the grade school building in Pleasant Grove this year. ' Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Fugal are moving to Payson this week, where Mr. Fugal will be instructor in mechanic me-chanic arts at the Payson High School the coming winter. Miss Melba Harris of Payson, is instructor in domestic science at the high school this year. Miss Jeanne Coleman, formerly a member of the Lehi High School staff, is instructor in fine arts, textiles and clothing. Mr. and Mrs. George W. Larson received word that their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Law-erence Law-erence Olpin, had arrived safely in New York. They have been visiting with relatives here during the summer. sum-mer. LaCell Gammett, has accepted a position as mechanic arts teacher in the Ncphi High School. He graduated gradu-ated from the B. Y. U. last, spring and was an outstanding student in this line of work. His many friends will watch his progress. Helen Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Nelson, was operated cn Saturday at Lehi. for a ruptured appendix. ap-pendix. Although a very serious case, Miss Nelson is progressing nicely. Miss Margaret Stagg will be employed em-ployed in the schools at Tooele the coming winter. Physical education is her line of work. She was a graduate of the University of Utah ' and has been assistant to Miss Jep-! Jep-! person at the B. Y. U., the past two ' vears. Miss Stagg is a hard worker "and is sure to succeed in her work. |
