Show Air Moving at Slow Speed Maket for Most Comfort Large volumes of air moving ul low velocities are more efficient in producing produc-ing a cooling comfort eflect than relatively rel-atively small quantities moving at high velocity, the Holland Institute of Thermology of Holland, Mich., states. Twelve year of research Id American laboratories of ventilation have shown Hiat the cooling effect of moving air caunot be doubled simply by doubling the speed of its motion. This principle Is taken advantage of In the modern "vaporalre" heating system sys-tem which produces a cooling efftct In the borne during summer by keeping keep-ing the air circulating through It at moderate velocity. This system working work-ing In hot weather moves three or four times as much air through the rooms as the ordinary warm air clr rulating system does in winter. In winter, too, the system operates on the principle of a large volume of moderately warmed air Instead of a small quantity of superheated air. And this makes for health because moderately warmed air produces on!, form temperatures In the rooms and has a beneficial effect on the breathing breath-ing apparatus of the human body, while excessively hot air parches the membranes of the nose and throat and makes them liable to colds and other diseases. |
