Show (Strawberry I Day Program Gets Way Under, The Chamber of Commerce members mem-bers held a meeting Monday evening eve-ning at the home of Charles E. Thorne to discuss business vital to the Strawberry day celebration. Charles E. Thome, Ford M. Poulson and H. P. Jones were selected as a committee to purchase a new Ford car to be given away through tickets distributed by the merchants of Pleasant Grove, Lindon and Or?m. This feature is to be one for the Strawberry day celebration. Matters concerning the rodeo were taken up by Chairman Erving Johnson of that committee. Other new featurees for the annual Strawberry Straw-berry day were discussed. The Chamber of Commerce, city officials and school board are making mak-ing plans to erect one more tennis court joining the one that was recently re-cently built. This matter is to be taken up as a part of the annual clean up day in the near future. The oiling of the secondary highway high-way is to be urged by the Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber of Commerce is in receipt of letters from the four congressmen from Utah, King, Thomas, Murdock and Robinson, assuring them of their influence in keeping the CCC Camp at Pleasant Grove until all of then-projects then-projects are completed. Plans are maturing for a finer Sriawbcrry day celebration than! has been held for several years. |
