Show Mrs. Florence Willis of Lehi, spent Friday of last week in American Fork at the home of her sister, Mrs. Lawrence Hutching and family. The Bee Orchis club will be the guests of Mrs. Cora Barratt at her home May 15th. All members are urged to be in attendance. DeVeral Nicholes left Sunday for Lansing, Michigan, to purchase a new Oldsmobile for his brother, El-dred. El-dred. Kenneth Taylor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Taylor, is recuperating at his home this week after having his tonsils removed last Sunday. The barber shops and beauty par-lars par-lars of American Fork, Lehi and Pleasant Grove closed their doors at one o'clock Wednesday and will continue to do so during the summer sum-mer months. These people are hearty supporters of the baseball teams and are closing their shops to participate and enjoy the games. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Mercer and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Storrs entertained enter-tained at a dancing party for the members of1 the Deltha Dames club and their partners and guests in the Legion Hall Saturday evening. There were 45 couple present and enjoyed the evening, caps and horns being used to add to the fun. Mr. and Mrs. David Grant of Salt Lake City announce the arrival of ' a baby boy at their home April 25th. Mr. and Mrs. Grant are former residents resi-dents of this city, Mrs. Grant being be-ing the daughter of Bishop and Mrs. T A. Greenwood. Mrs. Harold Pyke and son, Wallace, Wal-lace, Mrs. Blanch Brunker, Mrs. Emma Em-ma Chase and Mrs. Lottie Shelley of Salt Lake City visited Tuesday with Mrs. Samuel Grant and family. Mrs. Brunker, Mrs. Chase and Mrs. Shelley are sisters of Mrs. Grant's. Mr. and Mrs. I. L. Pratt celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary which took place April 29, by having a family gathering at their, home Sunday. Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Soloman Angel, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Angel and Mrs. Mina Moss of Salt Lake City, and Mr. and Mrs. George Brown and son of Murray. Mrs. L. H. Anderson entertained at a shower in honor of the approaching ap-proaching marriage of her daughter, Nona, and Mr. Arthur E. James, which will take place this month. Twenty-five guests were present and enjoyed the time playing games at which prizes were won by Mrs. Roy Steele, Mrs. Earl Greenwood and Mrs. William Roberts. The bride was persented with many beautiful gifts for her new home. Mrs. Walter Steffin entertained at four tables of bridge at her home Wednesday afternoon. The guest list included Mesdames V. F. Houston, Hous-ton, E. H. Devey, Chris Scott, Glen Sykes, Clyde Thornton, Howard Nicholes, Eslie Bennett, Bernard Storrs, Marion Mercer, John Var-ney, Var-ney, Lloyd Tregaskis, Ronald Bate, Glen Baker, Reed Christofferson LeMoyne Despain and Clyde Birk. Mrs. Birk won the high score favor and Mrs. Mercer the consolation award. |
