Adams with her daughters, Mrs. Laree Willet and Mrs. Jane Mott and Kenneth Mott is visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Carlson and family at Burley, Idaho. Visitors at the Sjoberg home during dur-ing the week-end were Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Sjoberg and s.n, Kayle, and Miss Judith Sjoberg of Salt Lake. Mrs. Wiley Nebeker and Mrs. Vera N. Wagstaff and daughter, Nadine, are spending the summer in Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove after being in Los Angeles Ange-les during the winter months. Mrs. Rose Chapman and daughter, Rowena, left Friday for their home in Hayden, Utah, after visiting the past month with their daughter and sister, Mrs. Frank Richins. I Mrs. Rose B. Hayes is ill "with erysipelas at the home of her son, Claude, at Salt Lake. She attended the temple excursion and Was taken suddenly ill on June 26th. Miss Emma Sundquist, who has been employed in Salt Lake, is spending a few days with her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sundquist, Sund-quist, 'before leaving for St. Louis, Missouri, where she will visit the remainder re-mainder of the summer. Mrs. 3S. D. Loveridge and Mrs. Fred Richins of Sandy, and Mr. and Mrs. Andy Hollenbeck of McGill, Nevada, visited with the Oscar Richins Rich-ins family and other relatives here on "Saturday. O. Hensen Eaton of Vernal, is visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Marion Hatch. Mr. Hatch is at home from the Rainbow mines, because of . the serious illness of his small son. The baby is slowly improving at the present time. J Mrs. William L. Hayes returned Monday from Rexburg, Idaho. Mrs. I Hayes is much improved from her recent very serious illness of influenza-pneumonia. She took ill while visiting with her sons at Rexburg. "Martin Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. "Case and daughter of Nampa, Idaho, are visiting Mr. Nelson's brother Earl Nelson. Miss Mary Nelson of Salt Lake is also enjoying a visit at the Nelson home. Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Eggertsen were speakers at the Manila conjoint Meeting Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Swenson entertained after af-ter the services for them. At the meeting the scouts of Troop 28 of "Manila received the Roosevelt award. Miss ILorena White and Mr. Jeremy Jere-my Ijesvitt were married Monday July 2nd, in the Salt Lake temple. Immediately following the ceremony cere-mony they left for a trip to the Boulder dam and the canyons of Southern "Utah. Mr. and Mrs. J. Clarence Hilton, with Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Clark and twin daughters, Elda and Alta, left July 4th for a two weeks trip to Chicago and the World's Fair. After visiting the fair they will go on to Detroit, Michigan, where Mr. Clark will purchase a car to drive home. Mr. and Mrs. LeGrande White and Mrs. Inez Olpin of this city, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Olpin of Heber, returned the first of the week from a three week trip to the World's Ian at Chicago and other, interesting points along their route. A letter received Monday by Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Fugal from their son, Roy, who is in London, England, states that his trip was very interesting inter-esting and educational. Roy was sent with a group of American stu-1 d?nts to do international research work through fifteen countries of. Europe. He represents the Massa-! chussets Institute of Technology The party expects to sail for the j United States about the 14th of , August. I Mrs. Jo,eph West returned Tuesday Tues-day from Cowley, Wyoming. Mr. and Mrs. Lyean Johnson spent the week at Fish Lake. Mr. and Mrs. I. R. Hilton of Salt Lake, vUitcd with Flessant Grove relatives Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Kirk and Ezra F. Walker are enjoying a fishing fish-ing trip at Strawberry Lake. Mrs. Niels Swenson and Mrs. Em-me Em-me Larsen of Provo, visited Wednesday Wed-nesday with Mrs. Annie Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Overlade and family of Salt Lake visited Pleasant Grove relatives on the 4th of July. The Misses Ida and Edith Cart-wright Cart-wright of Salt Lake, spent Saturday and Sunday with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Wright. Miss Emily Wright left Friday evening for a trip to Denver, where she will visit with her cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Peterson. Mrs. Norma Adamson and children chil-dren returned to their home at Salt Lake Friday, after visiting for a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Ole Christiansen. Chris-tiansen. Mrs. Florence A. Williams of Delta, Del-ta, is visiting with her mother, Mrs. Ole Anderson, and other relatives and friends. Don and Helen Grabbo of Glen Ridge, New Jersey, spent a pleasant Visit with Mrs. John C. Nelson and Elroy Nelson Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Neldon Simpson and family of Moroni are here visiting with Mrs. Simpson's mother, Mrs.i Clara Kirk, and other relatives. D. B. Thome, Mr. and Mrs. Mar tell Keetch, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer 'York visited Wednesday at the L. D. S. hospital with Vern Keetch, Week-end visitors with Miss Ethel Fillmore of American Fork, were the Misses Evelyn Bezzant, Verna Bastian and Laura Huntsman. r. ;' Vern Keetch, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Kejtch, was operated on Tuesday Tues-day for appendicitis. He is at the L. D. S. hospital and is improving nicely. Sunday visitors with Mrs. Mary Wadley were her family, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Farmer and children of Provo, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bar-ratt Bar-ratt and family of American Fork. Maurine Beck and Erma and Margaret Mar-garet Atwood left Sunday for Salt Lake. They will visit with their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. William Will-iam Atwood. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard1 Walker, Lafayette Wright and others returned re-turned Tuesday from a ten-day trip to the World's Fair. Mr. and Mrs. Walker visited relatives at Michigan Michi-gan also. Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Olpin arrived ar-rived from New York Tuesday, having hav-ing made the trip with Elroy Nelson. Nel-son. They will be guests of the George W. Larson and Alvira Olpin families while here. Mr. and Mrs. Armond Webb and Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Webb visited Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shoell. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Wat-kins Wat-kins of Carbon County have been visiting here the past week also. Word has been received by Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove relatives of the birth of baby boys at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. LeGrande Walker at Ogden, and Mr. and Mrs. George W. Brown at Provo. Mrs. Brown was formerly former-ly Miss Edna Bullock. Miss Jeissie Knight, sister of Safety Comrnissioner John M. Knight, Is spending the week with Miss Ardena Atwood. Monday, Miss Knight, Miss Atwood and Sadie Beck and family motored to Heber and spent the afternoon. George Hayes of Blackfoot, Idaho, a former resident of Pleasant Grove, with his eldest daughter, Mrs. Alta Marshall, and another daughter, Hah Hayes, and nephew, Ralph Hayes, visited with Pleasant Grove relatives last week. They came to attend the Hayes reunion. Mrs. Kenneth Harris, who has charge of the Beginners and Firs groups of the Lindon Primary, took her classes to visit Mr. Albert E. Harris on his fiftyTSecond birthday anniversary. Mrs. Harris took a birthday cake and the little tots enjoyed the privilege of spending a day with Mr. Harris, who Is an Invalid. |
