Loeie. who has been . a sufferer for a number of years from heart trouble, passed away at her home here early Sunday morning. morn-ing. The services were held Tuesday afternoon in the stake tabernacle with Bishop Earl S. Greenwood of the Fourth ward in charge. Ten Years Apro Now At a meeting of the Commercial Club held Thursday night, it was proposed that American Fork hold a rousing big Home Coming and Poultry Poul-try Day celebration. A mass meeting to decide this will be held in the near future. The club also voted at the meeting to back the local baseball team for the summer season. sea-son. Ten Years Ago Now The Orem depot safe was blown open and robbed of $85.00 early Wednesday morning, and the yei;gs made their get-a-way without anyone any-one seeing them, although a number of citizens heard the explosion. The explosions were hiiard between 1:30 and 2 a. m. The robbery was not discovered until Arnold Clawson the agent, arrived at the depot Wednesday Wednes-day morning about 7 o'clock. The job appears to be the work of amateurs ama-teurs and the officers are investigating investigat-ing several clues. Ten Years Ago Now A special session of the city council was held Friday evening, the object being to consider the city's taking over care of the cemetery lot:;. It was decided that in the fall the city would a.-.sume full care of the lots. Ton Y'-ars Ak' Now Washburn Chipman celebrated his 94th birthday Monday and in honor of the occasion a dinner party was given at his home. One of the most successful social affairs of the week was the surprise tendered Mrs. Eengta Hansen by her children and friends at her home last Sunday the occasion being her 48th birthday. The dinner also was in honor of the marriage of Miss Hannah Han-nah Hansen and P. E. Russon who were married in Salt Lake. Ernest Paxman who for the paGt five years has been music Instructor in the local schools, signed a contract con-tract for a position of music Instructor Instruc-tor in the Provo High School. Kenneth Ken-neth J. Bird of Nephl, has signed a contract as music supervisor for our schools. , , |
