Show I Stable Prices For Berries Expected Bright prospects seem to appear for this year's raspberry market for Utah county growers, following the receipt of contracts from almost 100 per cent of the growers, according to I. J. Burr, secretary of the Utah Berry Growers Association. Contracts Con-tracts were laid on the table at the board of directors meeting, and confidence con-fidence was expressed by all present. Meeting with the Board were several sev-eral truckers who sell berries over a wide range of country. After tfireshing out all questions and problems prob-lems relating to their joint relationships relation-ships a satisfactory agreement was tentatively arrived at between the Growers' association and the individual indi-vidual truckers, reports Mr. Burr. Emery McKellip, manager for the Utah Berry growers, stated at the meeting that many contracts are coming in from Northern Utah also, and that an attempt will be made there to sign up all berry growers, as the folly of underbidding and dumping berries on' the market is apparent to all growers this year after their experiences of past years. J. Erval Christensen, F. L. Culmer, V. E. Fountin, Clarence Soulier, and Alvin Lunceford are the directors of the association all of whom expressed ex-pressed confidence in this year's price remaining stable. General arrangements ar-rangements made for marketing this year's crop were discussed but further furth-er plans were held up awaiting the completion of the contract drive. |
