Show Estell and Elaine Fenton enjoyed a trip to the Southern Utah national nation-al parks and Boulder dam, and on their return saw Zion's and Bryce canyons, being gone from Wednesday Wednes-day to Saturday. Mrs. Aurilla J. Smith of Windsor ward, who underwent an operation at the L. D. S. hospital in Salt Lake City recently is reported to be improving im-proving satisfactorily. Mrs. Ezna Cragun visited her mother in Lake View last week. J. L. Harvey, who was injured in an automobile accident recently, is reported to be improving. His injuries in-juries are healing satisfactorily, and he is able to be up and about. Mrs. Reva Fugal . and Mrs. Karl Banks of the stake M. I. A. board were visitors at the Manila ward Mutual meeting Tuesday evening. Mrs. Fugal conducted the preliminary prelimi-nary program of the meeting. The Democratic ladies held a tea at the high school Thursday afternoon. after-noon. Delbert Draper was the principal prin-cipal speaker, and musical numbers were furnished by Mrs. King, Mrs. Reva Fugal, and the high school trio. The regular Genealogical meeting of the Third ward will be held next Monday evening at 7:30 o'clock at the Sanford Walker home. Angelyn Wamick left this week, in company with other educational leaders, for the East, where they wDl make a study of home economics instruction. in-struction. They will visit Washington, Washing-ton, D. C, New York City, and other large cities, and participate in conferences con-ferences at these points. Assembly Junior high assembly was held Wednesday, October 19. Calvin Fenton, Fen-ton, junior high student body president, presi-dent, took charge. Interesting numbers num-bers on the program were: a selection selec-tion by the orchestra; violin solo, Marilyn Richards, accompanied by Carol Clark; talk on Scouting by Harold Walker; musical skit, Virginia Virgin-ia Jacobs, Beth Meeks, Marilyn Richards, assisted by Gordon Wright; reading, Glida Jensen; clarinet clar-inet solo, Kay Jacobs; and the concluding con-cluding number was a song by the high school trio. |
