Show Old Folks of Three Stakes Feted at Lehi Nine hundred old folks, committee members and guests were gathered at the Lehi Wines Park Wednesday at the annual summer tri-stake old folks outing of Lehi, Alpine and Timpanogos stakes. The day was a complete success and the many aged guests attending report an enjoyable enjoy-able time. The day was rather cool and pleasant, pleas-ant, making it possible for many to attend. The guests from neighboring neighbor-ing towns were transported to Lehi and all met together at the park at I 11 o'clock. There they enjoyed visiting visit-ing and handshaking with old friends. The Lehi band entertained the group with several splendid selections se-lections during the forenoon. Between 12 and 1 o'clock luncheon was served at long tables by the committee members. A program was given in the afternoon after-noon with Roy Greenwood, chairman chair-man of Alpine stake, in charge. It included a duet by Ivy and Eloise I Russon, reading by Miss Ruth Jones, accordian and saxaphone duet by Hershel Manning and Milan All-red, All-red, dancing numbers under the direction di-rection of Miss Groesbeck of Alpine, Al-pine, saxaphone duet by Leslie Smith and son of Alpine, stunt by Mrs. James Tattersol and Mrs. Stewart of American Fork, a vocal duet by Mrs. Viola Beers and Mrs. Stella Hardman of Pleasant Grove, remarks by guests and entertaining stunts under the direction of Mrs. Ernest Larsen. Late in the afternoon the guests were returned to their homes. The outing1 was planned under the direction di-rection of the committees of the three stakes, with the three chairmen, chair-men, Ellis Peterson of Lehi, Roy Greenwood of Alpine stake, and Thomas Fenton of Timpanogos stake, in charge. There were 322 people attending from Lehi stake, 294 from Alpine stake and 284 from Timpanogos stake. |
