Show Pleasant Grove Locals Roland Jacobs was the speaker at the Third ward Sunday evening. King Drysdale and Arlan Bastian returned Sunday evening from a month's stay at Jackson, Wyoming. Miss Gennieve Fugal left Wednesday Wednes-day evening for Richfield, where she will be employed in high school work during the coming winter. Mrs. George Richards is suffering from an ulscr on her right eye. She Miss Vcrna Bastian will leave the last of the week for Reno, Nevada, to attend an art school. Fred Nelson, son of Mrs. Flo Nelson Nel-son had his tonsils removed at Dr. Anderson's office Tuesday. John Halliday Jr. was the speaker at the Second ward chapel last Sunday evening. Karl Hoggan of Salt Lake, was a guest Tuesday with his sister, Mrs. has made several trips to Provo during the past week for medical treatment. Hair and family spent Saturday with friends in Payson. Kirk Allred left Sunday for Logan where he will attend school at the U. S. A. C. the coming winter. Mrs. Paul Anderson and son, Eugene, Eu-gene, of Provo, visited Thursday with her mother, Mrs. Edah Allred. Mrs. Ed W. Lewis Jr. and Mrs. Ed W. Lewis Sr. and daughter, Byrl, spent Friday afternoon in Provo. Mrs. Ernest Clayton and new baby returned home Saturday from the L. D. S. hospital. New York, have been guests during the past week of S. L. Swenson and Russell Swenson. Mrs. Driggs was, before her marriage, Miss Elizabeth Swenson. The engagement of Miss Ruth Armitstead, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Armitstead, and Bee Cob- Mr. and Mrs. James Baxter are proud parents of a baby boy, born September 12th. I Mr. and Mrs. Paul Walker andj family of Nephi, visited the first I part of the week with Mr. Walker's father, Ezra F. Walker. Mr. and Mrs. John E. Christensen bley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Cob-bley, Cob-bley, has recently been announced. The marriage will take place the last of this month. The Genealogical committee of the Manila ward held the first meeting meet-ing and social of the season at the home of Mrs. Jessie Wadley Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Odeal Kirk, Mr. and Mrs. Verl Kirk and Mrs. Clara Kirk motored to Consumers, near Price, Sunday and enjoyed a day of visiting visit-ing with Mr. and Mrs. Milton Kirk. Tire Windsor ward M. I. A. held their opening social Tuesday evening in the form of a lawn party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Stark. The evening was spent in out-door games. This group gave generous applause to the former Pleasant Grove team members who won credit, in the league. Tim Richards won . two of three games in relief pitch-'' pitch-'' ing for the Dividend team who were state winners. This is the second ' year that he has been a member of the championship team. Thomas College, formerly of this city, played a good game for the champions. Fugal's birthday and to bid farewell to Mr. and Mrs. G. Roy Fugal who returned to their school work at Boston Monday.
