Monday's Games: Tri-- L 6, Plumbers 0 i Tri-- L sputtered in the first couple of innings, then exploded for four runs in the third and let their defense and pitching take over as they shut out the Plumbers. David Ratliff was again great on the mound, allowing the Plumbers one double and three singles for the night. Wallbangers 7, Sanders 6 Sanders jumped out to a quick lead in the first inning, but the Wallbangers continued to peck ( away at the lead to come back and win the game. Rick Houghton's solo homer in the fifth inning proved to be the winning margin. Cream O Weber 8 Johnson's Body Shop 2 Cream 0 Weber used a four-ru- n third inning to put away Johnson's Body Shop. Alan Hardy pitched a great game as Cream 0 Weber allowed just four singles to John-son's. Wednesday's Games: Tri-- L 6, Walker Oil 2 Tri--L started quickly in the game, scoring four runs in the top of the first inning. After that, the defense took over, allowing only four hits to Walker Oil. Wallbangers 3, Plumbers 2 In what was one of the best games of the season, the Wallbangers held on to defeat the Plumbers in the bottom of the ninth inning. The Plumbers' Bryant Herman tied the game in the seventh inning with a solo home run and so the game went into extra innings. Both teams had opportunities to win the game but were unable to do so. Wils 9, Dan Dee's 4 Wils scored four runs in the third inning to put away Dan Dees, who struggled at the plate, getting only four hits. The win kept Wils on top of the standings. Kentucky Fried Chicken 7 Comet Chemical Transport 0 Kentucky Fried Chicken scored a run in five of the seven innings to shut out CCT. Kentucky Fried Chicken played great defense in allowing CCT only five hits. Kencraft 8, U.V. Merchants 4 Kencraft scored three runs in the seventh inning to put the game out of reach for the U.V. Merchants. Ken Bishop hit a three-ru- n homer in the first inning for Kencraft, while B. Street had a two-ru- n shot for the Merchants. The league will take tonight off in preparation for the tournament this weekend, which will be held in Pleasant Grove. Round Two will finish up Monday, June 27, with Round Three scheduled to begin shortly thereafter, as several teams try for the final time to make it to the year-en- d tournament. After slumping in the first round, Kentucky Fried Chicken has awakened and swept through round two. Wils 9, Kencraft 7 Wils had to come up with some clutch defense to win this game as Kencraft brought the winning run to the plate twice in the last inning, but a strikeout and pop-u- p ended the threat. Craig Sacco hit his first homer of the season for Kencraft. Kentucky Fried Chicken 10 Playboys 9 Kentucky Fried Chicken remained on the top of the round two standings with a defeat of the Playboys. They entered their last at bat down by one run, but scored two to win the game as Brady Belliston sacrificed in the winning run. Comet Chemical Transport 11 Dan Dee's 3 Comet Chemical Transport had a field day at the plate, batting around the order the first two in-nings. They also knocked three homers in the game. Runners are off to a good start in the 5K Strawberry Days Road Race Saturday. Lots of winners named in 'Berry Good Race Winners in the Strawberry Days Road Race were many again this year . The men's overall winner was Gordon Hyde with a time of 15:10. Cheryl Harper won the women's overall with a time of 17.30. Two hundred people partici-pated in the 5K run, Saturday, sponsored by Pleasant Grove Parks and Recreation. In the kids' division, Brian Por-ter won the boy's overall and Robin Rasmussen won the girl's overall. In the 0 to 3 year-ol- d bracket, Kristy Chestnut won. In the 4 to 6 year old, Golden Harper won the boy's division and Rebecca Dewall won the girl's division. In the 7 to 9 year-old- s, Robin Rasmussen won the girl's division and Kerly Jones won the boy's division. In 10 to 12 year olds, Brian Porter won the boys and Jessica Taylor won for the girls. In 11 and under, Matt Burside won for the boys and Angie Bell won for the girls. In the 12 to 14 year-old- s, Kevin Reynolds won for the boys and Valeria Bell won the girl's division. Jason Brown won the boys and Kristy Brown won for the 15 to 18 year-old- s. In the 19 to 24 year old division, McKay Judd won second overall and for the guys and Jill West won for the girls.
