Show Kangaroo Hop at hospital b The "Kangaroo Hop," a popular community service offered at the American Fork Hospital, will be held Tuesday, July 9, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the hospital. Invited to the "birthday party" are children of expectant parents in the area. Participants receive balloons, certificates and refreshments -as well as a better understanding of what goes on in the hospital and where Mom will be when she comes in to have a new baby. Officials said aim of the "birthday party" is to help children of expectant ex-pectant parents feel more at ease with Mother's impending hospital stay. During the party, the youngsters will receive a demonstration of the hospital admission process and a tour of the labor, delivery and nursery areas. They also see a room like Mom might stay in while at the hospital; and they learn that they can visit Mommy and the new baby each day at special times, and can talk to her on the telephone anytime. Expectant parents and their children are invited to attend the party free of charge. They should, however, . pre-register pre-register by calling the American Fork Hospital, 756-6001. |
