Show Chief reports quiet Halloween Pleasant Grove Police Chief Mike Ferre reported that it was a very quiet Halloween in Pleasant Grove last week. He said there were no serious reports. They had been concerned because last year a child was hit with a car and a child had been assaulted and his candy taken away . along with other incidents. The chief stated that he was pleased with the care the people took to avoid any serious problems during the annual holiday. The Police Department also reported that they have 1,008 reports to date this year and for the entire year of 1983 there were only 892 reports. This does not include the reports from Lindon that the department has handled since the end of May. Two incidents of vandalism to cars were reported to police on Nov. 4. A car at Don's Automotive, 345 W. 200 South, was sprayed with yellow paint and obscene words were written on it, according to Police Officer Jeff Wilson. The car was owned by Gaylon Pugh, Lehi. Damage was estimated at $400. There are no suspects. Two cars parked at the Chicken Time parking lot were spray painted the same day with a white paint. Again, obscene words were written on the vehicles. Damage to the cars was set at $300 by Police Officer Tom Prestwich. He said the 1956 Cadillac and the 1973 Buick were going to be restored. " There are no suspects in this incident, in-cident, either. The Salt Lake Sheriffs Office has recovered a car which was stolen from Pleasant Grove. The vehicle, a 1978 Plymouth, was owned by James Rayl, 640 S. 1300 East, Pleasant Grove. The car was reported missing on Oct. 25. It was recovered on Oct. 28 at 1525 S. 1700 West, Salt Lake. The car had sustained $300 damage while it was gone and $100 worth of items had been taken from the vehicle. Lt. Tom Paul and Officer Mike Blackhurst have referred two juveniles to Juvenile Court on theft charges in connection with the incident. |
