Show Mrs. Horace Higgs entertained entertain-ed at a charmingly arranged announcement party Saturday evening in honor of the engage- , ment of Miss Alta Acord to H. A. New of Los Angef.es. ? The rooms were profuse with vases of snap dragons, apple blossoms and jonquils, i Nine tables of Bridge were played with prizes being awarded to Mrs. Ruth C Ark and Mrs. H. C. McShane. The cut-prize was won by Mrs. WillTjevarthen. The guests then adjourned to the dining room whee refreshments were served .at two 'long tables. Cry's-tail Cry's-tail baskets of pink and white sweet peas with huge bows of pink tulle and streamers extending extend-ing the full length of the tables, were used as centerpiecs. A miniature bride and groom in a bower of flowers stood at either end of the tab'e a) which the bride-elect was seated. The announcement an-nouncement cards were hidden in pink and white corsages to which were tied tiny pink hearts which served as place cards. The ices were cupid3 and hearts with which were served heart shaped wafers.
